Jaguars pick two-time All-Pro and Super Bowl Champion in PFF's 2013 NFL redraft

In PFF's 2013 NFL redraft, the Jaguars selected an All-Pro offensive lineman and Super Bowl Champion in the first round. If the Jacksonville Jaguars could go back in time and reselect in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft, who would they pick? Pro Football Focus recently redrafted the entire first round of the 2013 NFL draft, using hindsight and their grading as their guide. After a 2-14 season in 2012, the Jaguars held the second overall pick in this draft and selected offensive tackle Luke Joeckel. But this time around, PFF had the Jaguars picking tackle Lane Johnson instead. "Johnson's production and consistency continue to impress into his mid-to-late 30s," wrote PFF. "He has earned at least an 80.0 PFF overall grade in nine of his 12 NFL seasons. He set a career record at the age of 34 with an 88.9 mark in 2024 en route to a second Super Bowl victory with the Eagles. Johnson has also amazingly allowed just six sacks over the past six seasons, spanning nearly 3,000 pass-blocking snaps." Johnson, who is still playing, has spent his entire 12-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles as their right tackle. This includes making 158 starts during that span, winning two Super Bowls, along with being a six-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro. Johnson has also been named a second-team All-Pro three times. Joeckel, meanwhile, was not selected in the first round of PFF's redraft. He played four seasons with the Jaguars, making 50 starts, and then spent the 2017 season with Seattle, which was the last year that Joeckel saw regular-season snaps.
