Joey Skoff, Morningside's all-time leading scorer, announces plans to enter transfer portal after five seasons with the Mustangs
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – The legacy left by Morningside guard Joey Skoff is one that will be remembered for a long time as the Nebraska native and programs all-time leading scorer announced he will be using his final year of eligibility elsewhere. Skoff wrapped up this season with a career-high 22.4 points per game, finishing his career with 2,328 points for a Mustangs team that has made the NAIA Tournament in each of the last three seasons. Morningside ended the year with 25 wins, its most victories in a single campaign since totaling 27 in the 2019-20 season. Dordt's Sievers, Morningside's Skoff take home GPAC Basketball Offensive Player of the Week honors
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Dordt guard Macy Sievers and Morningside guard Joey Skoff were honored by the GPAC after big performances on offense last week. Sievers was named the GPAC Women's Offensive Player of the Week after averaging 13 points and 9.5 assists on the week. The junior guard put up a near-triple double (11 points, 10 assists, seven steals) in the team's 87-54 win over Briar Cliff on January 22nd.
