R100k reward to catch fugitive linked to missing Sodwana skipper
IN a bid to bring justice to the family of missing, presumed murdered, Sodwana Bay skipper John 'Matambu' Dercksen, an avid angler and friend of the missing fisherman has posted a hefty reward. The R100 000 reward has been posted by an 'angel fisherman who walked a long path with our beloved John Matambu', said Cherie Eilertsen, Dercksen's sister. The reward, which is equivalent to 350 000 Mozambique metical, is being offered for information on the current location of Tomas Frederik 'Verdie' Visser, and will be paid on his successful apprehension and arrest. In the meantime, a warrant for Visser's arrest has been issued in connection with a sexual assault case in Nelspruit. This after a summons to appear in court was not served on Visser as he could not be traced, as posted on social media by Eilsertsen earlier in the week. According to Eilertsen's post, charges against Visser for the Nelspruit matter include house break-in with intent to commit crime; assault; and sexual offences. Anyone who sees Visser is asked by the family to take a photograph and contact 076 6948570. Don't have the ZO app?
