Bike SUX Bike Ride fundraiser benefits Big Brother Big Sister this year
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — On Saturday, the 15th annual Bike SUX Bike Ride helped raise funds to support mentoring programs in Siouxland.
More than 100 bikers came out to the event, which is a bike ride around Siouxland that raises money for local nonprofits.
Registration began at 8 a.m. with riders taking off at 9 o'clock from Caribou Coffee on Hamilton Boulevard. From there, they traveled to Sergeant Bluff before heading back to Sioux City.
This year's Bike SUX proceeds will help benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland. They create and support mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.

'The ride originally started 15 years ago to promote cycling in Sioux City,' said the founder of Bike SUX John Donovan. 'We have a beautiful trail system, and we should be using it, so that's why it really started. But then, we threw a charity aspect into it the first year, and we've continued to do that, so for 15 years, we've been raising money for charity.'
The event ended at One Eyed Jack's on Hamilton for lunch and a chance to win some raffle prizes.
