Henderson County introduces new Colonels Head Coach
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — Last week, John Elliot was named the new head coach of the Henderson County football program.
He has spent 48 years coaching football in and around the Tri-State and was formally introduced to the community on Tuesday morning.
Elliot is taking over a program that was manned by Josh Boston for the past nine seasons. Just five of those years were winning seasons and the last two were not as pretty.
He has spent two stints with the Colonels in the past. Both as an assistant and wants to instill 'The County Way' to this program.
'I'm not going to treat it any different thing I did when I was here. The previous two times I was a coach,' says Elliot. 'Whether you're the head coach, defensive coordinator or defensive line coach, it was a coach. I always looked at it that way. I've been in a head coach at five different schools, and I've been an assistant. So it coaching is coaching.'
