Denver Broncos: John Franklin-Myers tweet has fans worried
With the NFL's free agency negotiating window wide open, the Denver Broncos have been busy retaining in-house players while also seeking outside help.
One of the team's notable in-house players is defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers, who still has one year left on his contract but has made it clear he wants an extension.
JFM recently retweeted a post from former NFL defender J.J. Watt that read: "Reward your players earlier and reap the benefits in the long run. Dragging it out not only ends up costing more, it creates unnecessary tension. The longer you wait, the higher the price."
Today, JFM tweeted: "Still counted out.."
(We would embed the tweet here, but Twitter/X has had a lot of outages today and embedded tweets aren't functioning at the time of publication.)
That tweet led to a flurry of worried reactions from Broncos fans (which we can't embed) along with assurances from fans that the team will get an extension done in time.
Franklin-Myers is scheduled to earn about $8 million this season before becoming a free agent in 2026. His projected market value is about $8.5 million, according to Denver will likely want to eventually extend JFM, but other moves seem to be more pressing at the moment.
