The 43-year-old man died after the incident on Meikle Earnock Road at around 12.35am on Sunday, June 1, involving the pedestrian and a silver Skoda Octavia. ‌ Road policing officers are appealing for information and have asked any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage to get in touch. ‌ Emergency services attended the scene and the pedestrian was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he died a short time later. His next of kin are aware. The driver was uninjured. The road was closed to allow for crash investigation work and re-opened around 8am on Sunday morning. Sergeant John Houston said: 'Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time. 'Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash to contact us. ‌ 'We also ask anyone driving in the area at the time to check if they have dash-cam footage that can help with our investigation.' Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0155 of Sunday, June 1.
