Celtic fans told strict Rangers clash entry rules as exact allocation for Ibrox revealed

Celtic fans attending Ibrox this weekend have been told they must gather at a designated meeting point two and a half hours before kick-off. Around 2,000 Hoops diehards will be in the away end on Sunday for the 12noon showdown as the Glasgow rivals meet for the fifth and final time this season. But with extra security measures in place for the high-risk fixture, Police Scotland have a plan of action to safely escort Celtic supporters inside the stadium by 10.30am. Celtic's supporter liaison officer, John Paul Taylor, communicated on X: "This weekend fans who have a valid match ticket are requested to gather at Broomloan Coach Park from 09:30 with a view to being in the Stadium around 10:30. "Coach Park on Broomloan Rd will be for Supporters Coaches only. Ticket checks will be in place on approach to the Stadium." The green-and-white faithful will be housed in the corner of the Broomloan Stand next to the traditional away section in the Govan West. A similar system was in place when Rangers visited Celtic Park in March after both clubs reached an agreement to end the two-year away fan lockout . Gers punters were warned they risked missing kick-off at Celtic Park unless they arrived no later than two hours before the game. The Green Brigade and Union Bears both faced kettling ahead of the Parkhead meeting and around 90 ultras were denied entry. Additional safety arrangements have been established for both visiting clubs since the traditional 7,000 away fan allocation was slashed in 2018. It's the first time Celtic fans have been granted access to a fixture at Ibrox since January 2023 when Kyogo's late goal snatched a 2-2 draw.
