JDT bring in a new 'Spanish wall'
KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) announced today that they have got a new wall at the back. That wall is imported. It comes from Spain in the form of centreback Antonio Glauder, who is JDT's latest signing for the 2025-2026 season. In a video posted on JDT's social media, the 1.8m Glauder is seen donning the No. 5 jersey, last worn by Indonesian international Jordi Amat. This also sparked speculation about Amat's JDT future. "We've got a new wall at the back! Welcome to Johor Darul Ta'zim FC, Antonio Glauder," read the caption accompanying the video. Glauder, 30, brings with him experience from several Spanish clubs, including youth stints at Barcelona (Under-16) and Villarreal (Under-19), before moving on to Espanyol B, Fuenlabrada and most recently, Cadiz CF. He also had a six-month spell with Croatian side NK Rudes in the 2017-2018 season. Netizens reacted quickly to the announcement. "It has begun," wrote Syahriman Mahat. Others drew attention to the No. 5 jersey. "So, it's confirmed that Amat will leave JDT because another player is using the No. 5 jersey," commented Ishfahan Shah.
