Foreign Minister To Visit Europe, Indonesia
Rt Hon Winston Peters Minister of Foreign Affairs Foreign Minister Winston Peters departs this weekend for visits to France, Italy and Indonesia. In Nice, Minister Peters will attend the Pacific-FranceSummit, hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron; represent New Zealand at the third United Nations Ocean Conference; and hold a series of bilateral meetings with counterparts from around the world. "New Zealand is a Pacific country, and we take seriously our responsibility to work with partners in the region and around the world to contribute to resilience, stability and prosperity," Mr Peters says. "France's hosting of these events further demonstrates its strong contribution to the Pacific.' In Rome, Mr Peters' visit will mark 75 years of diplomatic relations between our two will be the first visit by a New Zealand Foreign Minister to Rome since 2007, when MrPeters last visited. 'Italy is a leading world economy, and we share important historical connections as well as contemporary trade and economic ties,' Mr Peters says. In Jakarta, Mr Peters will attend the annual Joint MinisterialCommission meeting in alongside Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and willmeet with President Prabowo's brother and senior advisor, Hashim Djojohadikusumo. 'We are ambitious about deepening our relationship with will be an opportunity to strengthen trade, education and development connections andpromote regional cooperation,' Mr Peters says. Mr Peters departs New Zealand on Saturday 7 June and returns on Saturday 14 June.

Saudi Ministerial Visit Sends Strong Signal For NZ Trade And Investment Growth
Press Release – New Zealand Government Minister for Trade and Investment Minister of Agriculture Trade, Investment and Agriculture Minister Todd McClay has wrapped up a successful programme hosting Saudi Arabia's Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, His Excellency Eng Abdulrahman A. AlFadley, in Auckland this week for the 9th New Zealand–Saudi Arabia Joint Ministerial Commission. 'This visit builds on growing momentum in our trade relationship with Saudi Arabia and the wider Gulf region following the conclusion of the New Zealand-Gulf Cooperation Council Free Trade Agreement,' Mr McClay said. 'With Saudi Arabia being our largest export market in the Gulf and the GCC trade deal soon to be signed, we're opening new doors for Kiwi exporters —particularly in agriculture, agri-tech, food innovation and fintech.' The delegation of 37 Saudi officials and business leaders engaged in a packed programme, highlighting New Zealand's strengths across food security, innovation, and primary production. Businesses and organisations visited included: Auckland Business Chamber Vessev (Electric hydrofoil vessel) Westbury Stud Farm University of Auckland (Space Institute and satellite testing) Moana Seafood Fonterra The FoodBowl-NZ Food Innovation Auckland 'From dairy and seafood to clean tech and research partnerships, the opportunities for collaboration are real and growing. The GCC trade agreement will deliver duty-free access for 99% of our exports over time and ensure New Zealand businesses are well-positioned in one of the world's most dynamic regions,' Mr McClay says. 'The Government is focused on unlocking export growth and backing New Zealand's exporters to succeed globally.'

AlFadley, to New Zealand. Minister AlFadley is leading a delegation of more than 35 senior Saudi officials and business people to Auckland for the 9th New Zealand–Saudi Arabia Joint Ministerial Commission—a key platform for advancing trade and economic ties between the two countries. 'The hosting of this Joint Commission in New Zealand reflects the strong momentum in our relationship with Saudi Arabia and the broader Gulf region, particularly following the successful conclusion of negotiations for the New Zealand-Gulf Cooperation Council Free Trade Agreement late last year,' Mr McClay says. 'In a time of global uncertainty, the Government is focused on opening doors for Kiwi exporters and providing greater certainty for New Zealand businesses. 'As the Gulf's largest economy and one of our top export markets, with exports reaching $1.14 billion last year, Saudi Arabia presents significant opportunities for Kiwi businesses through the NZ-GCC FTA.' Alongside the Commission, the Ministers will participate in business outreach focused on agriculture, technology, and digital innovation. 'This visit provides a valuable opportunity to profile world-class Kiwi exporters and highlight investment opportunities in New Zealand's fast-growing tech sectors,' Mr McClay says. The Joint Ministerial Commission and business programme will run from 28–30 April in Auckland.
