Sydney Sweeney breaks silence on breakup with Jonathan Davino

Sydney Sweeney spoke out for the first time about her split from ex-fiance Jonathan Davino, two months after the pair broke up after seven years together. The Euphoria star confirmed her breakup with Davino two months after multiple outlets reported the two had called off their engagement and ended their relationship. And in addition to speaking out about the split for the first time, Sweeney noted that "yes," she is single, according to E! News. "I'm learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends," the Echo Valley star added in her interview, adding, "And I'm loving it." The White Lotus actor and Davino started their relationship in 2018 and have also worked together. He co-produced the 2023 film Anyone But You with the actress, who starred in the romcom with Glen Powell. After the actors' onscreen chemistry raised eyebrows, the two sparked romance rumours, which they and the actor's mom repeatedly dismissed. "It's always beautiful to see people fall in love with characters and be supportive of what they see on screen," Sweeney said. And the bond between the 27-year-old and the Top Gun: Maverick actor, who recently reunited in Texas for his sister's wedding, remains strong. "When you spend so much time with someone, you become close and you talk to each other about anything," Sweeney said. "So work, life, family, friends, he's just there for me. I'm there for him."

The 27-year-old Euphoria star had been engaged to longtime partner Jonathan Davino, 41, for three years before they abruptly split earlier this year. The TV star has been reasonably tight-lipped over the end of her relationship but has now given a very to-the-point response when discussing her romantic life. Opening up to The Sunday Times, Sweeney was asked if she was still planning her wedding - and she bluntly replied, "No." Delicately pressing on, the interviewer then asked the actress if she was single, and she confirmed her status by responding, "Yes."

Sydney Sweeney reveals 'secret' to maintaining her busty figure

Sydney Sweeney has 'revealed' how she maintains her busty figure. The actress, 27, told The Times that eating a ton of sweets is to thank for her chest. Discussing her diet with the publication, she joked that she eats like a 'toddler', with her go-to dishes including cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, sweet potato fries, and hot dogs. She also said she loves to bake desserts, including chocolate chip cookies and Nutella brownies. 'It all goes to my boobs,' Sydney laughed. Elsewhere in the interview, she finally spoke about the status of her relationship with Jonathan Davino following months of split rumors. The blonde beauty, who was seen without her engagement ring in February, came clean about the breakup when asked if she was still planning a wedding. 'No,' she said. She then answered 'yes,' when asked if she was single, adding, 'I'm learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I'm loving it.' She and Jonathan, 41, who produced her successful romcom, Anyone But You, had been together since 2018 and got engaged in 2022. Sydney also appeared to take a subtle swipe at the prominent female Hollywood producer who derided her last year for both her looks and her acting abilities. The Anyone But You actress was publicly mocked by Carol Baum on a New York stage in April 2024. Carol was in conversation with New York Times film critic Janet Maslin when she said Sydney was 'not pretty' and 'can't act,' while also labeling Sydney's 2023 romcom 'unwatchable'. She later made a dramatic U-turn, however, saying that it isn't her style to be 'crapping on an actor like that in public'. While speaking to The Times this week, Sydney said coyly: 'It's the women who give me the hardest time.' She did not directly name Carol or refer to the incident. The actress suggested that people tend to assume she's less involved than she is. She told The Times: 'I have to be like, I want to be in the room, I want to sit in every single meeting and want to be involved in every decision, I want to be taken seriously as a producer.' She explained that she had learned to be 'very direct' and 'very blunt' before adding: 'To be honest, actually, I always find that it's the women who give me the hardest time.'

The insider said that Sweeney has been focusing on work amid the end of her engagement. "She's exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She's all about working right now and very excited about all her projects," they explained. "What did make her overwhelmed, though, was her relationship and her wedding. She didn't feel right about it," the source added. The PEOPLE Puzzler crossword is here! How quickly can you solve it? Sweeney currently has a new season of Euphoria in the works, and the Emmy-nominated star will lead a movie adaptation of The Housemaid bestseller, as well as portray real-life boxer Christy Martin and screen star Kim Novak, in upcoming projects. The insider also told PEOPLE that Sweeney is "in the middle of this magical career that she could only dream of a few years ago. This is what she wants to focus on right now." "She's not ready to settle down," the source continued, adding of Sweeney and Davino: "They only lasted for this long because it was hard for her to break it off. They didn't split because there is no love. They split because she just wants to focus on her career right now." Sweeney and Davino, a businessman from Chicago, have been spotted out in public together following their split. Of the outings, a source told PEOPLE, 'This wasn't just a relationship. This was two people living together and planning a future. They still have things to figure out." The former couple first sparked rumors that they were dating in 2018. "I don't date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it's easiest. I have a great support system." She continued, "I have people who will battle for me and allow me to be on the pedestal and shine without making me feel like, 'Oh no, I'm shining too bright and I need to step back.' " "I look for a best friend," Sweeney also said. "I need to be able to be with someone who I can literally hang out with 24/7 and never get sick of and we laugh every single day." Sydney Sweeney reveals the secret to maintaining her very busty figure

Sydney Sweeney has revealed just how she maintains her very busty figure. The Euphoria star, 27, who often showcases her ample cleavage in low-cut dresses, spilled on how she has achieved her enviable physique during a recent interview with The Times. And according to the actress, consuming a ton of sweets are to thank for her big chest. While discussing her diet with the publication, she joked that she eats like a 'toddler,' with her go-to dishes including 'cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets and sweet potato fries and chocolate fries and crap pack cheese and hot dogs and peanut bacon sandwiches.' She also said she loved to bake desserts at home like marshmallow rice crispy cakes, chocolate chip cookies, and Nutella brownies. 'It all goes to my boobs,' she added with a laugh. Elsewhere in the interview, Sydney finally spoke about the status of her relationship with Jonathan Davino following months of split rumors. The blonde beauty, who was seen without her engagement ring in February, came clean about the breakup when asked if she was still planning a wedding. 'No,' she told them. She then answered 'yes,' when asked if she was single, adding, 'I'm learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I'm loving it.' Sydney also appeared to take a subtle swipe at the prominent female Hollywood producer who derided her last year for both her looks and her acting abilities. The Anyone But You actress was publicly mocked by Carol Baum, whose films include Father of the Bride and Dead Ringers, on a New York stage in April 2024. Carol was in conversation with New York Times film critic Janet Maslin when she said Sydney was 'not pretty' and 'can't act,' while also labelling Sydney's 2023 romcom 'unwatchable.' She later made a dramatic U-turn, however, saying that is isn't her style to be 'c**ping on an actor like that in public.' While speaking to The Times this week, Sydney said coyly: 'It's the women who give me the hardest time.' She neither named Carol nor referred directly to the shocking episode - but the comment nevertheless returned attention to Carol's very personal attack. The actress, who founded the production company Fifty-Fifty Films in 2020, suggested that people tend to assume she's less involved than she is. She told The Times: 'I have to be like, I want to be in the room, I want to sit in every single meeting and want to be involved in every decision, I want to be taken seriously as a producer.'
