Constables arrest El Paso driver 'doing doughnuts' on Alameda with young child passenger
An El Paso driver was arrested accused of recklessly "doing doughnuts" on a street with a preschool-age child passenger in the backseat. An El Paso County constable saw the display and arrested Jonathan Herrera, 24, of East El Paso, on an endangerment of a child charge, a second-degree felony, Precinct 6 Constable Javier Garcia said in a news release. The truck was going in circles causing it to skid across all five lanes of traffic on Alameda several times, Garcia said. When the constable pulled over the truck, he noticed Herrera had a 3-year-old child in the back passenger seat. Herrera was arrested and booked into the El Paso County Jail. He was released on Sunday after posting a $5,000 surety bond, according to jail records. No attorney is listed for him on court records. Man facing child endangerment charge after doing ‘doughnuts' with kid in vehicle
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 24-year-old man was arrested Saturday evening, May 31 for child endangerment after he allegedly was doing 'doughnuts' with a 3-year-old child in his vehicle, according to the El Paso County Constable's Office for Precinct 6. At about 6:15 p.m. Saturday, a constable deputy observed a pickup truck traveling at a 'high rate' of speed along the 7900 block of Alameda Avenue. The driver was also seen going in circles, or making 'doughnuts,' across five lanes of traffic, according to the Constable's Office. The constable deputy did a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as 24-year-old Jonathan Herrera. The constable deputy saw that Herrera had 3-year-old child in the back passenger seat while he was driving recklessly, the Constable's Office said. Herrera was arrested for endangering a child and was transported to the El Paso County Detention Facility, where he was booked under a $5,000 bond, the Constable's Office said.
