LILO & STITCH
Disney's live-action remake of their beloved 2002 animated feature is smart counterprogramming. I'm usually nicer to these remakes than most critics, but I hated, hated, HATED the original.

KARATE KID: LEGENDS
Features characters from the original 'Karate Kid' franchise, its 2010 remake, and the streaming series 'Cobra Kai.' Jackie Chan and Daniel LaRusso himself, Ralph Macchio, reprise their roles.
JANE AUSTEN WRECKED MY LIFE
Rom-com featuring a wannabe writer who wishes her life were like a Jane Austen novel. Gurl, just live vicariously through 'Clueless.'
BRING HER BACK
The latest horror movie from the Philippou brothers ('Talk to Me'). Looks gross and creepy.

THE PHOENICIAN SCHEME
Because my recent sins have not been forgiven, Wes Anderson has a new movie. Expect more of the director's usual tricks.
TYLER PERRY'S STRAW
Because of a

sin I committed, Tyler Perry also has a new movie. Expect more of the director's usual tricks.

THE RITUAL
In 'The Devil's Advocate,' Al Pacino played Satan. In this movie, he's playing The Exorcist. Talk about switching sides!

Elio (voice of Yonas Kibreab), a space fanatic with an active imagination, finds himself on a cosmic misadventure where he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, including Glordon (voice of Remy Edgerly), a tender-hearted princeling in Disney and Pixar's 'Elio.'

In Pixar's latest, Elio is a lonely boy who wishes to be abducted by aliens. He obviously hasn't read Whitley Strieber's 'Communion.' Zoe Saldaña and Brad Garrett costar.
EVERYTHING'S GOING TO BE GREAT
Allison Janney, Bryan Cranston, and Chris Cooper star in this dramedy about a regional theater in my beloved home state of New Jersey. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth leads the cast as a theater kid.

Joseph 'Top Gun: Maverick' Kosinski is back with another movie for dads. This one's about a retired Formula One racer (Brad Pitt) who teams up with a younger driver ('Snowfall''s Damson Idris) for one final shot at glory. Javier Bardem costars.

JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH
It's ScarJo vs. T-Rex (or other assorted dinosaurs) in the latest installment of the endless 'Jurassic' franchise. 'Wicked''s Jonathan Bailey costars. Let's hope Mahershala Ali gets to say 'hold on to your butts' like Samuel L. Jackson did in the first movie.

MADEA'S DESTINATION WEDDING
OK, so I lied: Tyler Perry has TWO movies out this summer. His alter ego, Madea, attends her 50-11th wedding in this series. Now, Madea vs. Superman — I'd pay to see that. Hell-uhr?

SMURFS
In this smurfy reboot, Rihanna is Smurfette, John Goodman is Papa Smurf, and the screenplay is by 'South Park' vet Pam Brady. I bet it Smurfs! Let's hope Smurfette belts out 'Smurf Better Have My Money' over the end credits.

HAPPY GILMORE 2
The two best things about the first movie, Carl Weathers and Bob Barker, are no longer with us. Barker died in 2023; Weathers in 2024. We're left with Adam Sandler and Happy's golf clubs. Maybe it'll work.
From left, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, and Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/Human Torch in 20th Century Studios/Marvel Studios' 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps.'

THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS
After Fantastic Four movies in 2005 and 2015, I'm starting to think this dismal superhero franchise is a 10-year cinematic cicada. Yes, I know there was a sequel in 2007; just go with me here.

THE NAKED GUN
Lieutenant Frank Drebin gets taken — oops, my mistake! Liam Neeson takes over for the late Leslie Nielsen in this update of the ZAZ spoof franchise. Neeson is the son of Nielsen's character. Shenanigans ensue, none of which will be as much fun as you saying 'Nielsen, Neeson, Neeson, Nielsen' over and over and over.

Pop Quiz: Do you know the plot of the original animated feature, 'The Bad Guys'? If so, this one's for you.
