Amissah 'very confident' County will 'finish the job' against Livingston

Jordan Amissah insists Ross County are "very confident" they will retain their Scottish Premiership status by defeating Livingston in the play-off final second leg. Ronan Hale scored a stoppage-time penalty for County to cancel out Danny Wilson's earlier opener for the Championship side at the end of the first half in Thursday's first leg. And the Staggies shotstopper believes that equaliser ensured they "done the job" before welcoming Livi to Dingwall tonight. "It was never going to be an easy game, but we stayed in the game, it's a tie over two legs and we've done our job," the German said. "Ronan scores a brilliant penalty, it's never easy, these games, but we've done our job, now it's all about going back to Dingwall, on our ground and performing. "So, [we're] very confident. We've shown in the past that we're a good team, and it's about doing that again. "We've been a Premiership club for a reason, that's what it's about on Monday, to turn up and get the job done. "I think over the last few games we've played very good first halves, now it's just about performing for 90 minutes and making sure we're getting the job done, the boys leaving it all out there. "It's just about finding the moments of quality up the pitch and getting goals, and I'm sure the defence and me will do everything we can to keep the team in the tie."

Jordan Amissah wants Ross County to go out and prove one thing in decisive Livingston play-off

The Staggies hope to avoid the drop via the play-offs for the third season running on Monday night Jordan Amissah knows Ross County are a Premiership club and now it is all about going out and proving it. The Staggies are in the relegation play-off for the third year on the bounce and they will also hope it will be third time lucky. ‌ They go into the second leg against Livingston at 1-1, after Ronan Hale's stoppage time penalty rescued a draw - and this time around they have home advantage. ‌ The keeper insisted: 'We want to be in the Premiership, I want to help the team stay there. We were on a very good run when I signed, but in the last few league games we have not been getting the results. 'That puts us in the position we're in now. But I will leave it all out there to help the team stay up. How confident are we? Very confident. 'We have shown it in the past that at home, we're a good team. It's about doing that again, we have been a Premiership club for a reason and it's about turning up to get the job done. "We have to be consistent for ninety minutes. Over the last few games we've played very good first halves so it's about doing that over the whole game next. 'The boys left it all out there on Thursday, it's about getting that quality up the pitch to get goals. I'm sure the defence and me, we'll do everything we can do to keep the team in the tie." County's goal was a real kick in the teeth to Livi, who had been the better team. ‌ He said: 'Does it give us a little edge? Maybe, but all I can say is we are going into Monday's game full of confidence. 'We're going to our place, perform and stay in the league. Scoring the late goal was massive, absolutely massive. 'It was the same as the Dundee game the other week, when Ronan put it away brilliantly. We took that into the Motherwell game, started that game brilliantly on the front foot and there will be no difference going into Monday.' ‌ County cruised past Raith Rovers last year and pulled off the great escape against Partick Thistle the year before. Don Cowie's side will now be looking for a new hero. The No.1 admitted: 'The boys have talked about the previous play-offs, George Harmon can't stop talking about his last-minute goal against Partick Thistle. ‌ 'Obviously, ever since I've joined I've looked at those games because they boys have talked about being in them the last two seasons. 'The fans looked unbelievable in those games and really backed the boys. That's what we need from them again, be behind us and we'll leave it all out there. Manager Cowie wants his side to produce more ammunition for on-form striker Hale. ‌ He said: 'I think we need to service Ronan Hale a lot more. You can see how confident he is, he's playing with a real freedom and he's in great form. 'In the first half hour I thought we managed to do that, and then we had a lull. I thought Jordan White came on and made a good impact on the game. 'We are going to have to perform collectively at a high level on Monday to come out on top against a good Livingston. We go back to Dingwall, where the pitch is in incredible condition right now. 'Livingston are a good footballing team, so I'm sure they will look forward to that. 'We are comfortable at home where I'm sure we will have a big support. It's got the making of a great game.'

County need 'lady luck' to avoid play-off

We asked for your views after Ross County secured a dramatic 1-1 draw against Dundee in the Scottish what you had to say:Rick: Dundee were there for the taking in the first half. They looked disorganised and kept playing backwards, causing the home fans to boo, but we were wasteful, couldn't finish and the game was littered with mistakes - Akil Wright's back pass for example. I couldn't take any more and left in the 90th minute, missing the penalty, but no Here we are again, play-off time, unless lady luck shines on us on Sunday. However she has not been good to us recently with the injuries and the loss of form of some players. But we also have to admit that we suffered greatly from some rather enigmatic team selections and tactical decisions of late. We need to get back to a formation that the players understand. A massive performance from Jordan Amissah against Dundee kept us in the game - well done big man. The team are still fighting so the fans need to fight with them on Sunday. Come on the Staggies.

New deal at 'magnificent' County 'felt right' for Amissah

Ross County goalkeeper Jordan Amissah says it "felt right" to extend his stay at the 23-year-old's contract extension will run until the summer of 2027 and he has hailed the club as a "magnificent" place to Ghanaian Amissah, who has kept four clean sheets in 13 appearances since joining on an initial short-term deal in December, said: "It's been quite a good time really ever since coming up."I've enjoyed my time here so far and it just felt right to extend my stay."I'm a big people person so it's for me being on the pitch, things have to go well obviously to get settled in. But it's the people around the club, especially the kind of club Ross County is [with] a lot of people making this club work and the staff, the boys in the changing room, we've got a very, very good group."The boys made me feel welcome from the get-go. Obviously I knew Kacper [Lopata] from my time at Sheffield United with him so it made it really easy. It's just been magnificent really, it's just been so easy and obviously playing as well, it's been a big help."The Staggies are four points clear of the relegation play-off spot and four adrift of sixth place, and Amissah is looking forward to playing Dundee United on Sunday as it is the only side he is yet to face in the top flight."We've been taking it pretty much game to game, there's no point looking to much ahead and thinking if we do this and this and this and then this can happen," he added. "I think it's the only team I've not been involved in a game against yet."Following Scottish football, you know Dundee United, it's a big club, so it's going to be an exciting occasion and I'm really looking forward to it."
