She also highlighted the JSMO's recent efforts in this area, including hosting last week's meetings of the ISO/TC 204 Technical Committee on Intelligent Transport Systems, in cooperation with Princess Sumaya University for Technology. Ammon News - The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) dealt with 47,801 customs declarations and conducted 1,368 inspections across the Kingdom during the first quarter of the year to ensure products meet technical regulations, specifications and valid legislation. According to JSMO data, the organization issued 170 destruction orders for products that were found in violation and affect public health, including detergents, wet wipes, children's toys, electrical appliances and tires. During the first three months of the year, the JSMO issued three closure orders against factories and shops and 32 warnings, referred 53 violating entities to the Public Prosecutor and reviewed 208 complaints and referred violators to the judiciary for legal action, the data showed. By the middle of this month, the organization checked and stamped 5,400 kilograms of manufactured gold and silver jewelry, both local and imported, and 7,000 kilograms of imported gold and silver bullion, according to the data. It also showed that the organization performed 26,650 laboratory tests, checked 4,675 fuel flow meters at stations and tankers, the weight of 3,150 gas cylinders, 4,220 taxi meters, 615 types of pre-filled containers, and 590 weights, scales, and weighing scales. The organization indicated that it verified 2,689 conformity assessment documents to ensure validity, and inspected 1,200 elevators to ensure safety for public use. It also granted 147 products the Jordanian quality mark and conformity certificates, such as "halal" and "organic", and launched the "commitment of trader" program, which facilitates procedures for traders who adhere to technical regulations and standard specifications and expedites transactions for 36 companies.
