FLORENCE, S.C. (WBTW) — A pair of Florence friends decided the best way to celebrate a lottery win was to share it with each other. The winning ticket marched all give numbers drawn on March 25. 'It was an exciting time for us,' the winner said after buying the ticket at the Pilot Travel Center on N. Williston Road in Florence. ‘Is this right?': South Carolina couple in disbelief after $100K lottery win

EFFINGHAM, S.C. (WBTW) — A South Carolina couple didn't fully believe that they had won the lottery until a winning check was in their hands. The wife told South Carolina Education Lottery officials that she checked the Powerball ticket first, but made her husband double check when she realized all but one number matched, asking him, 'Is this right?' He bought the ticket at the On The Go on Alligator Road in Effingham and thought it was likely a big winner. 'We were still anxious,' the wife said before turning the ticket in, thinking it was too good to be true. When lottery officials verified that their ticket was a $100,000 winner, they were finally convinced. 'I can't believe how people must feel when they hit the big one,' the wife added. On The Go was rewarded a $1,000 commission for selling the ticket. The odds of matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball number are 1 in 913,129. * * * Jordan White is a Digital Producer at News13. She joined the News13 team in August 2024. 'Got what we deserved', 'Rancid for months', 'Cowie not the right man'

We asked for your views after Ross County were relegated from the Premiership following the 4-2 second-leg defeat to Livingston in the play-off what some of you said:Stephen: Got what we deserved and saw it coming weeks Abysmal form, overreliance on loan players. Aside from Josh Nisbet, Ronan Hale and Jordan White there was a lack of fight across the team in our most important game of the season. We deserved to be relegated unfortunately. Sadly we'll need to cash in on Hale as well. If Don Cowie goes, hard to see who would want the No less than we deserve. Our defence is shocking. It's the fact we were 2-0 up which makes it painful. It's a loss for Highland football in Being 2-0 up before half an hour, then losing 4-2 at home tells you all you need to know about County. We've been circling the drain for months. Dozens of 'must-win' games prior to this loss. Nothing more than we Hope County do not follow in footsteps of ICT. Looks like they will have to improve drastically to bounce back up but a harder league to do that. Don Cowie is just too nice, they need a manager who says what it Time to clear out the underperforming For the best part of three months, we have been rancid. Three relegation play-offs in a row suggests there's something broken in the football side of things. This has to be the worst one yet, given we were in the hunt for the top six until the final game before the split. Hale aside, we have been so, so poor from back to front and it's finally caught up with I thoroughly disagree with Don Cowie. He most definitely is not the right man for the job. I do not have any belief in him as manager at all and it appears neither do the players. He must surely be sacked now after this. He should have gone weeks ago. There is no place for schoolboy kick and rush football at this level. BTW Livingston, well done. You thoroughly deserve to be promoted. County could not lay a glove on Disappointed to lose in that way, should never have lost that. The Championships is the best place for us right now, gives a chance to win games and refresh squad and mindsets.

Test of nerve as County & Livi fight for top flight

The mood music amongst the Ross County fans was decidedly gloomy before the Scottish Premiership play-off first doom-laden voices spilled forth on to the airwaves of BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound programme. Sombre predictions of various shades of footballing disaster was the general the end a 1-1 draw was a relatively positive result to head back to Dingwall with. It would be interesting to gauge the key of the mood music looked like they had edged it for large parts in West Lothian. The Lions had more possession, more shots at goal and were putting their bodies in the way of all the probing and prodding the Staggies could the football Gods work in mysterious ways and Livingston's Danny Wilson would be their plaything. The 33-year-old central defender has had quite the football journey. Rangers starlet, big money move to Liverpool, Championship-winning captain at Hearts. Add to that a transatlantic adventure in Major League Soccer and Scotland caps along the way and the boy's done has been a rock at the back for his hometown club, who have a defensive record to be proud of this recent weeks he has also chipped in at the other end. A goal against Partick Thistle at Firhill in the semi-final, he would find the net again in the final against County. His deflected effort put Livi in front on the stroke of how crucial could his late tug on the jersey of County striker Jordan White prove to be? VAR has been nowhere to be seen throughout the Championship season, but suddenly it was front and centre as - rightly - it awarded the Premiership side a resulting penalty from Ronan Hale was dispatched with power and expertise. A 17th goal of the season in all competitions for the striker who looks like the shrewdest bit of business done in Dingwall last summer. The tie was suddenly verve, invention and eye for goal will be the big hope again for County on Monday evening. At times in West Lothian they went direct in the hope that second balls would break to the Northern Irish livewire in his favoured territory, 20 yards or so from former Cliftonville man is the sort of player who makes things happen and seems unnerved by big moments."He has ice in his veins," is how BBC Scotland pundit Michael Stewart put it as we talked through the Sportscene highlights on Thursday in charge at Ross County would always have had hope in this tie but the first-leg draw gives that hope a more positive hue. 'Night of mountainous drama lies ahead' The talk of Livingston being favourites seems more hushed now. Suddenly there is anticipation about what happens boss David Martindale was clearly disappointed at the final whistle on Thursday. His players would have felt the same way after giving away the felt key decisions went against them. But he was also mindful to maintain an upbeat tone. The drum needs to keep beating before the journey to the have their own reasons for hope. For spells in the first leg they looked the more likely side. This well-drilled, experienced, streetwise team in yellow certainly knows how to win football for the Staggies, they now regroup on familiar territory knowing they have viewed this landscape twice in the past two seasons and this challenge resembles a mere Munro to the Everest that was the Partick Thistle ascent two years ago when they trailed by three goals on aggregate with 20 minutes left of the second into the mix a noisy home support with the canny nous of an away side that you can never, ever write off and this is a tough one to call. A night of mountainous drama lies ahead.

County 'need to improve' for second leg

We asked for your views on Ross County's 1-1 draw against Livingston in the first leg of the play-off what some of you said:Pete: While County hardly set the world alight with the performance, I also didn't see much to suggest Livi will overwhelm them in the second leg either, despite being the better team on the night. It looked to me that County were struggling with touch on the plastic pitch, especially Michee Efete, and resorted to long balls before having the focal point of Jordan White on the pitch. A few tweaks for the second leg should hopefully mean we stay competitive, but taking nothing for granted!Calum: Was a disappointing performance in all honesty. Were on the back foot but that makes snatching a draw at the death all the sweeter. Need to improve on Monday but reckon Don and the boys have what it takes.
