ALABWABA - Chairman of the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission, Haitham Misto, announced on Sunday that Jordanian airspace reopened at 4:00 a.m. local time, following a security and risk assessment of the airspace, Al Mamlaka reported on Sunday morning.
Haitham Misto said that a number of airlines, such as Royal Jordanian, diverted their flights when airspace was closed due to the unrest and exchange of attacks between Israel and Iran.
However, he added that the flights which were diverted are currently on their way back to Jordanian airports.
"All airlines have been informed of the decision to reopen Jordanian airspace in order to resume their scheduled flights and return flights that were diverted to other destinations when the airspace was closed to Amman again," Jordan's Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission head said.
Meanwhile, Israel will keep its airspace closed for the third consecutive day amid ongoing escalation with Iran.
