AMMAN — The Arab and International Organisation to Construct in Palestine on Saturday convened its forum in Istanbul under the theme 'From Rubble, We Build Hope,' drawing broad participation from Jordanian, Arab, and international stakeholders. The Jordanian Contractors Association (JCA) participated in the forum's sessions and in meetings of the Supreme Committee for Reconstruction in Palestine, represented by JCA President Fouad Duwairi. In his remarks, Duwairi underscored the association's active role in supporting reconstruction efforts in Palestine and Gaza, highlighting financial contributions made by Jordanian contractors and technical studies conducted by the JCA on reconstruction methodologies. He reaffirmed the association's steadfast commitment to the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza, and pledged the continued engagement of Jordanian contractors in rebuilding efforts. Duwairi noted that Jordanian contractors have donated machinery and equipment to support reconstruction and debris removal operations. "A detailed list of these resources has been submitted to the reconstruction committee." He added that the removal and processing of rubble are expected to take approximately one year, with Gaza divided into designated operational zones to facilitate the process. The JCA, Duwairi said, has also participated in several international conferences aimed at identifying effective mechanisms for recycling construction materials to support sustainable rebuilding in Gaza. At the forum's conclusion, the Arab and International Organisation to Construct in Palestine honoured Duwairi in recognition of the JCA's active engagement and significant contributions to reconstruction initiatives.

The Jordanian Contractors Association participated in the forum's activities under the auspices of the Higher Committee for Reconstruction in Palestine, represented by its President Fouad Duwairi and Vice President Marouf Ghananim, the Jordan News Agency reported. In his address, Duwairi outlined the association's efforts to assist reconstruction efforts in Palestine and Gaza, highlighting the donations made by Jordanian contractors in recent months. He also shared technical studies conducted by the association, aimed at supporting rebuilding initiatives. Duwairi reaffirmed the JCA's commitment to aiding the Palestinian people, noting that Jordanian contractors have donated machinery and construction equipment for reconstruction efforts. A full inventory of tools and equipment earmarked for debris removal and rebuilding has already been submitted. He explained that clearing the debris and recycling materials in Gaza is expected to take approximately a year once the enclave is divided into operational zones, stressing that Jordanian contractors were fully prepared to engage in the reconstruction process. The JCA, Duwairi added, has participated in several international conferences to explore innovative methods for recycling construction materials for use in Gaza's rebuilding. Coordination continues with Jordanian contractors to secure the necessary machinery and construction supplies in collaboration with the Higher Committee for Reconstruction. In recognition of their contributions, the Arab International Authority for the Reconstruction of Palestine honored Duwairi and the JCA for their significant role in supporting reconstruction initiatives.

Ministry of Labor Approves Facilitating the Transfer of Non-Jordanian Labor in the Construction Sector - Jordan News

On Monday, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Ministry of Labor, the Jordanian Social Security Corporation, and the Jordanian Contractors Association. اضافة اعلان According to a statement from the ministry, the MoU aims to facilitate the operations of the construction sector by providing flexibility in procedures to meet the demand for non-Jordanian labor during specific seasons. Minister of Labor Dr. Khaled Al-Bakar, Head of the Jordanian Contractors Association Fouad Al-Dweiri, Director General of the Social Security Corporation Dr. Mohammad Al-Tarawneh, and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Labor Farouk Al-Hadidi attended the signing. Dr. Al-Bakar emphasized that the MoU aims to ensure the continuity of the construction sector's work and prevent any disruptions by enabling the movement of non-Jordanian workers who hold valid work permits within the sector, allowing them to transfer from one employer to another under specific conditions. He noted that the MoU also protects non-Jordanian workers through the Social Security Corporation, which is a key partner in the agreement, ensuring protection for workers in the event of workplace injuries. Dr. Mohammad Al-Tarawneh, Director General of the Social Security Corporation, described the agreement as a step in the right direction, providing protection for non-Jordanian workers, allowing them to move from one employer to another within the construction sector. Fouad Al-Dweiri, Head of the Contractors Association, said that the MoU would facilitate the construction sector's work, allowing for the efficient use of non-Jordanian workers with valid work permits, without causing legal violations for employers, while ensuring they receive the protection provided by social security. He also praised the Ministry of Labor's cooperation with the private sector. During the meeting, the establishment of a company by the Contractors Association to manage the affairs of non-Jordanian labor in the construction sector was discussed. This includes the recruitment, employment, and monitoring of these workers with employers. Additionally, there was an agreement to reactivate the training center at the Jordanian Contractors Association, which previously worked on training the Jordanian workforce in the skills required by the construction sector to increase the number of Jordanians working in this vital industry.
