Fifth Georgia basketball player entering transfer portal
The Georgia Bulldogs basketball team could be losing another player for next season. Guard Jordyn Kee announced he's entering the transfer portal, according to Dawgs247. Kee has four seasons of eligibility left.
Kee was a three-star recruit from the class of 2025, playing high school basketball at Sagemont Prep High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He signed with the Georgia Bulldogs on June 1, 2024.
Unfortunately, Kee couldn't crack a spot in the rotation, never playing a game for the Bulldogs. Transfers De'Shayne Montgomery, Tyrin Lawrence, and Dakota Leffew made up most of the guard depth behind starters Blue Cain and Silas Demary Jr., leaving Kee without playing time.
Of course, several of Georgia's guards are leaving via the transfer portal or running out of eligibility. Demary Jr., Montgomery, Wallace, Leffew, and Savo Drezgic are all departing this year.
Kee's departure leaves Georgia with even less continuity from last season's NCAA Tournament team, but he does not leave a big void. Kee entered the portal on April 22, which was the final day of the transfer portal window.
Head coach Mike White is actively seeking replacements in the transfer portal. Cal guard Jeremiah Wilkinson and Wofford guard Justin Bailey have both signed with Georgia. Wilkinson averaged 15.1 points, 1.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 0.8 steals per game, while Bailey averaged 9.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game last season.
Georgia is still looking to add a starting point guard for next season. UGA is targeting former Kentucky Wildcats commitment Acaden Lewis, who is ranked as a four-star recruit and the No. 5 point guard in the country.
