IMF Warns Europe Not to Block ‘Inevitable Structural Change'

'When dealing with trade shocks, any support to viable businesses aimed at mitigating tariff impacts should be temporary and targeted,' Alfred Kammer, director of the institution's European department, said Friday in Washington. 'Europe should protect people, but we have to be cautious not to stand in the way of inevitable structural change.'
