The loud and animated confrontation reportedly came after Los Angeles accused Red Sox first base coach Jose Flores of stealing signs during Monday's game, according to WEEI's Rob Bradford. That prompted a number of Red Sox players to take the field before the situation was defused. Anderson gave up five runs over 4.1 innings on Monday, with the Red Sox scoring four of those runs in the fifth inning. How a first base coach can steal signs with the new PitchCom remains unknown, but Anderson was clearly miffed about something. Now we'll wait to see if there are any carryover fireworks in Wednesday's series finale. It's the final time the Angels will play at Fenway Park this season, though the Red Sox head out West for a three-game series in Los Angeles from June 23-25. The Angels won the first two games of the current three-game series, which has sent the scuffling Red Sox to a 29-34 record for the season.

Benches clear as Red Sox, Angels get into heated pregame confrontation
The Boston Red Sox salvaged the final game of a three-game series against the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday afternoon. But, tempers flared well before the first pitch was thrown. During a practice session at Fenway Park, Red Sox first base coach Jose Flores had an exchange with Angels pitcher Tyler Anderson. The context of the apparent confrontation or what it stemmed from remains unclear. But, it was clear that Anderson was not fond of what Flores expressed. Flores did appear to start walking away before players and coaches from both teams began engaging in more exchanges. Videos surfaced on social media showing just under one minute of the incident. Red Sox manager Alex Cora remained in the outfield during the heated moment. Cora was seen drinking what appeared to be coffee and also spoke to Angels' personnel at the time. Anderson was on the Fenway Park mound on Monday for the opening game of the series. He allowed five runs, but Los Angeles was still able to secure a 7-6 victory. The Angels followed up Monday's win with another close victory on Tuesday. Boston bounced back on Wednesday and celebrated a 9-11 win. The Red Sox have struggled this season. While Wednesday's victory marked the Red Sox's 30th victory of the year, the team is still trying to find a level of consistent success. Boston has gone 3-7 over its last 10 games. NESN initially posted video of the altercation to the station's X account ahead of Wednesday's game, but later deleted the post. Cora had already spoken with reporters ahead of Wednesday's series finale when the incident occurred, so we'll have to wait until after the game to get his thoughts on what went down. But it would seem as though Anderson took exception to something that happened during Los Angeles' 4-3 win in 10 innings and aired his grievances to Boston before Wednesday's finale. Angels centerfielder Joe Adell was plunked by Boston starter Brayan Bello early in Tuesday night's game, but pitchers don't usually target a team's No. 8 hitter. Maybe Anderson wasn't happy with some high heat from Boston relievers during the contest, as Garrett Whitlock and Aroldis Chapman both threw some chin music to Angels hitters (likely unintentional) late in the game. Now we'll wait to see if there are any carryover fireworks in Wednesday's series finale. TSA offers tips ahead of Real ID deadline
Changes are coming to TSA security checkpoints. 'On May 7, 2025, every air traveler 18 years and older must have a 'Real ID' or an alternative ID to travel,' said Jose Flores, TSA Illinois deputy federal security director. The deadline comes two decades after Congress passed the Real ID Act in 2005 to enhance security at federal facilities, military installations, and air travel. 'Identity verification is critical for our mission, and TSA continues to make significant investments in this area to include our credential authentication technology,' Flores said. 'Real ID' compliant IDs have a star in the upper right hand corner. The Quad Cities International Airport is doing its part to make sure travelers are aware of the new ID changes. 'We've started adding signage around the airport,' said Ashleigh Davis, the Quad Cities International Airport's public relations and marketing manager. 'At all of the airline check-in counters, and in our baggage claim area, we have a big countdown so that people remember that this day is coming.' According to Flores, 70 percent of Iowans have a 'Real ID.' For Illinoisans, that number drops to 35 percent. 'Passengers without a 'Real ID' after the date can face delays, additional screening, and the possibility of not being permitted into the security checkpoint,' Flores said. Traveler Megan Johnson has 'Real ID' compliant identification. 'It puts me at ease knowing that I can get in and out, and I don't have any troubles,' Johnson said. 'No one is stopping me, no one is questioning.' Airport and TSA officials advise travelers to arrive 90 minutes to two hours before takeoff. 'I'm really confident in our local TSA officers here that they've been well-prepared and well-trained to keep the lines moving,' Davis said. 'If you try to do the TikTok challenge of the 15-minute airport challenge, I would not recommend that. It may not be successful,' Flores said. If your driver's license is not 'Real ID' compliant, there are other forms of ID you can show to get through TSA, including your passport. To find a full list of proper identifcations, click here.
