Local VFW post collects items for veterans in need
HUBBARD, Ohio (WKBN) – Helping out veterans and their families was the goal behind a local Day of Service.
There is a drive-thru donation drop-off at Hubbard VFW Post 3767 on W. Liberty Street. It's happening through 6 p.m. Saturday.
They are collecting a number of items, including baby food and diapers. Everything will be donated back to the Veterans Outreach to be used for veterans and families of veterans.
'They're our brothers and sisters in arms. We never look to turn our back on them. We never leave a man behind or a woman behind,' said Joseph Warminski, Hubbard post commander.
If you'd like to help veterans in need, the VFW is also happy to take donated items at any time or point you in the direction of organizations that need assistance.
