SWBNO officials said the advisory comes after a power surge at the Carrollton Water Treatment Plant caused a drop in water pressure. They said pumping has been restored and pressure is recovering.
Residents in the impacted area are being asked to conserve water by not using appliances like washing machines and dishwashers.
SWBNO officials said the advisory will remain in effect until further notice, and residents should boil their water before using it for cooking, brushing their teeth and water advisory issued for East Bank of New Orleans
