Felon in Duplin County arrested for drug and weapon charges
DUPLIN COUNTY, N.C. (WNCT) — A felon in Duplin County was arrested after officials found drugs and guns during a traffic stop.
On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, deputies with the Duplin County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division stopped a vehicle on NC HWY 24 near Blizzardtown Road in Duplin County, which was being driven by Joshua Lee Pickle, 34, of Beaufort N.C. Deputies discovered that Pickle had an outstanding felony drug warrant from Carteret County, N.C. and was then placed under arrest.
Officials searched Pickle's vehicle, which led to the discovery of a .22 caliber handgun, a fully operational MAC-11 machine gun, two disassembled MAC-11 machine guns, a 9mm handgun, .22 caliber ammunition, methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. Pickle was charged with multiple felony drug and weapons charges in addition to the outstanding felony warrant.
The passenger in the vehicle, Morgan Bistritz, 30, of Otway, N.C. was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Pickle and Bistritz were placed in the Duplin County Jail under no bond due to already being out on bond for other unrelated charges.
