Nottingham Forest stars pay tribute to Taiwo Awoniyi as Nuno Espirito Santo's side return to the pitch for the first time since star was put in an induced coma

Nottingham Forest 's players paid tribute to Taiwo Awoniyi during warm-up drills ahead of their clash against West Ham on Sunday. Awoniyi was put in an induced coma earlier this week, and is recovering well after undergoing urgent surgery to repair a ruptured intestine, which could have been life-threating. The striker crashed into a post during Forest's 2-2 draw with Leicester last week and, following several minutes of treatment, returned to action before being taken off. Awoniyi could not be substituted because Forest had used their last available switch to replace Elliot Anderson with Jota Silva. The forward tried to carry on, but was unable to move properly as Forest chased a late winner. Nuno Espirito Santo revealed before Sunday's game that Awoniyi will remain in hospital for at least a few more days, meaning he was unable to journey to east London in support of his team-mates. But that didn't stop Forest's players from paying respect to their colleague. The squad warmed up in blank white shirts, with the words, 'We're all with you Taiwo' on the front, and Awoniyi's name and No 9 on the back.

Nottingham Forest vs Man City predicted lineups and team news

Nottingham Forest and Man City face off for a place in the FA Cup final this weekend. This will be the seventh consecutive year Pep Guardiola's team has played in this stage of the competition, and they are looking to reach the decider for a third year in a row. In contrast the Tricky Trees are competing in the last four for the first time since 1991. They reached the final on that occasion, losing to Spurs at the old Wembley. Here is the latest team news and our predicted lineups for both sides ahead of Sunday's semi-final. Jota Silva could miss out as the Portuguese international deals with a knock that sidelined him for the win over Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night. Ola Aina could return from a calf issue that has kept him out of action for most of April. The full-back has missed Forest's last three matches against Aston Villa, Everton and Spurs. Neco Williams and Ryan Yates are both suspended, while Eric Moreira continues his recovery from injury. Erling Haaland is back in individual training after recovering from an ankle injury he sustained against Bournemouth in the quarter-finals, but this weekend's match has likely come too soon for the Norwegian striker. Guardiola would not rule out the possibility of Rodri playing a part against Forest in his pre-match press conference. The midfielder has been out since suffering a knee injury last September. Ederson needs to be assessed before a final decision on his involvement can be made. The goalkeeper remains a doubt after being forced off in the second half of the win over Crystal Palace, but the manager is hopeful he will be available next week. 4-2-3-1: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Toffolo; Dominguez, Anderson; Elanga, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood. 4-3-3: Ortega; Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O'Reilly; De Bruyne, Kovacic, Gundogan; Silva, Marmoush, Doku. The semi-final is scheduled to start at 4.30PM UK time on Sunday, 27th April at Wembley Stadium in London, England. The match will broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK, STV and the STV Player in Scotland, and Premier Sports 1 in the Republic of Ireland. Read – See Also – | | | |

'This is a dream for any kid'

Nottingham Forest winger Jota Silva has given a rare interview and told the Shut Up And Show More Football podcast he is living a "dream" this 25-year-old, who has vastly improved his English in recent months, told the BBC Radio Nottingham podcast: "I think it's a great season. It's incredible to be here and help the team play this football. In England, this football, it's incredible."For me, this is perfect for me and the club. I am very happy to be here. I worked a lot to try to be here so now I arrive and I try to do my best on the pitch, play with my passion that I have for this sport."If the coach says he needs me for 90 minutes, I play. If he needs me for five minutes I try for five minutes, try to impact the game and bring energy from the bench. For me the most important is to help the team and do my job."We are in the position we are because we don't have a team, we have a squad, a family here. Like the coach said, what we can achieve this season is so special so we work hard every day to achieve this."One of the words to describe this team is belief. In the FA Cup games, sometimes you score and go to extra time or penalties and you need belief in ourselves and team-mates. I think this is the word to describe this team, belief and passion."For me to play here in the Premier League and FA Cup is a dream. You have the Champions League and Premier League, FA Cup, every cup in this country is so special. We believe in ourselves and our work and we can improve every day."And, on the prospect of running out at Wembley, the summer signing said: "This is a dream for any kid and any person playing football. I will go to the game to enjoy, with responsibility, but to enjoy."Listen to the full episode on BBC Sounds
