Car-obsessed 4-year-old gets birthday surprise. See his ‘personal car show' in Florida
A 4-year-old's obsession with what was once trucks turned him into a 'Porsche loving little boy' who got a 'special birthday surprise' in Florida. In February, Nadja Jovanovic asked her Winter Springs community Facebook page if anyone would be willing to help make her son Kosta's birthday one to remember. Jovanovic didn't think the request would end up 'accidentally creating a car meet' the day before Kosta's March 24 birthday. 'It's a very active Facebook group, we have like 15,000 members and randomly I got this idea because he loves race cars, McLarens and all that,' Jovanovic told McClatchy News in a March 26 phone interview. At first, her family's plan was to take Kosta to the McLaren dealership so he could 'see everything up close,' she said. 'I said, 'you know if anyone with a cool car, any car, could come by' and a lot of people responded to it,' she said. And through that Facebook group interaction, Jovanovic met Mike Mallozzi, someone who would surprise even Jovanovic during the birthday celebration. Mallozzi, who's close with an organization called Dream Cars 4 Kids, a nonprofit that goes to children's hospitals and gives kids experiences with luxury cars, is also friendly with local police. 'I didn't know it at the time but Mike is also close with our local police department so on top of organizing Audis, Porches, Lambos, beautiful cars, to come, he even had the police come with their sirens and everything,' she said. Although she only posted the TikTok video of a 'personal car show' for her friends and family, she said 'I have never seen that many positive comments on a video.' 'Everyone was just so kind, saying it restored their faith in humanity,' she said. That's not all they said, though. Some talked about how lovely it was to have a community band together for a celebration with one person saying, 'Something about strangers showing up for kids will always make me emotional. I just know this brought so much joy to all parties.' And others talked about how the car owners were helping a dream they might've had as a child come true for a little boy. 'The drivers were once little boys who loved cars. This is so wholesome.' 'I just know the car guys were prolly even more excited than your son to do this haha,' another wrote. 'Sometimes the world is a beautiful place,' someone else commented. Winter Springs is about a 260-mile drive northwest of Miami.

Redditch residents fight against National Grid mast plans
Hundreds of residents are campaigning against plans for a 98ft (30m) mast outside their homes, arguing it will destroy their National Grid want to install a communications tower at one of their substations near Headless Cross, Redditch, in the middle of a residential than 500 people have signed a petition calling for it to be scrapped and said the area's wildlife would be negatively impacted.A spokesperson for the National Grid said while the proposal "has been developed to minimise the visual and ecological impact", they were open to feedback. Yvonne and Andre Jovanovic have lived on the estate for 40 years and said they never would have imagined something "so industrial" in a residential area."It's going to affect people sitting out in their garden in the summer because the mast is so close to their garden fences. "It's going to affect them mentally," Ms Jovanovic Jovanovic said he was prepared to do what it takes to protect his area."I've got the chain and padlock ready, but I'd rather not. "I felt sheer shock and amazement that they could entertain putting something so industrial in a residential area surrounded by houses."The scale of objections has resulted in Redditch Borough Council's planning committee having to vote on the decision at a date yet to be fixed. Helen Elvins, whose window will be about 80m from the mast, described the plans as "unfair"."I just feel a bit betrayed and let down; it's frustrating because I've lived here my whole life."This isn't right in the middle of a housing estate."You'll look out into the garden and see your flower beds, but all of a sudden, there will be a massive mast at the end of your garden."Concerned residents will meet with National Grid on Wednesday at 19:30 GMT at The Bridge Church Community Hall, in Evesham Road, to discuss the Grid said: "We are always committed to listening to public feedback as we seek to enhance the safety and security of electricity in the region." Sports Car Drivers Come Out in Droves to Surprise Boy for His Birthday
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." It might be easy to think that automotive enthusiasm is dying out among the nation's youth, but there are still plenty of kids out there who love then — and Nadja Jovanovic knew that seeing just about any cool car would make her son's birthday day. She put the word out in her local Florida community's Facebook page — but what she didn't realize was that asking for a "cool car" to swing by would turn into a sports car meet on her street. In response to the Facebook post, one car enthusiast named Mike appears to have jumped at the opportunity to go way over the top: he contacted other owners of sports cars he knew and organized a rally, and even reached out to other influencers in the area, including a group called Dream Cars 4 Kids. The local Winter Springs Police Department even escorted the group to Jovanovic's home. The result — well, it was truly heartwarming. Jovanovic captured the moment on when her son walked out of the house and realized what was sitting on his street. The group included several Porsche 911 models, a Toyota Supra, an Audi R8, a BMW M4 and a Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster. Before the end of the day, a Lamborghini Aventador rolled by as well. The drivers didn't just drive by, either; they invited Jovanovic's son and other kids at the party to check out and sit in their vehicles. The owner of the Mercedes-AMG GT even let kids rev the car up while it was parked on the street — the sort of act that seems liable to turn any child into a gearhead for life. As of this story's publication on Tuesday, Jovanovic's video — posted one day ago —has racked up nearly three million views on TikTok, and racked up thousands of comments, even from the likes of the official Hot Wheels account. Suffice it to say, it seems like it was a birthday neither Jovanovic nor her son will soon forget. Greece will make changes to combat 'high-level' Scotland
Greece manager Ivan Jovanovic says he will tweak his tactics from Thursday's defeat by Scotland for Sunday's return leg at lead the Nations League A play-off tie 1-0 thanks to Scott McTominay's penalty and a resolute defensive display in the first says he took learnings from that game, but expects Scotland to set up in a similar manner to how they did in Piraeus as they seek to maintain their top-tier status in the competition."Scotland have benefitted by playing at a high level, including the Euros," Jovanovic said. "There will be changes given what we learned on Thursday."Scotland's control of first half was very good. They were able to control the tempo. That was brought about by the midfield and the control they had in the game."I expect something similar to Thursday. To try and press and they will have the home fans behind them. I don't expect too many changes to Scotland team."Jovanovic says the make-up of his team's midfield has caused him headaches recently and promised changes in that area in order to facilitate what he hopes will be a winning performance."I have not decided on what team I will play," he said. "We still have one training session. "The midfield line up has bothered me over the last few days. It will be a midfield line up we haven't seen before. But I have confidence they can play the way required to win the game."

On being without captain Tasos Bakasetas, who's injured, Jovanovic admits "missing key players is a concern".Konstantinos Karetsas, 17, who represented Belgium at youth level, "is a player we've followed for a while", and says the midfielder has made "an emotional decision" to chose Greece.
