‘Devika and Danny' set to stream on Jio Hotstar from June 6
Jio Hotstar is set to roll out its latest Hotstar Specials series Devika and Danny on June 6, promising a refreshing and emotional ride for viewers. Featuring Ritu Varma, Surya Vasistta, Siva Kandukuri, and Subbaraju in key roles, the web series is directed by B. Kishore and produced by Sudhakar Chaganti under Joy Films. At a press meet held in Hyderabad, the team shared insights into the making of the show. Lead actress Ritu Varma said, 'I've been waiting for a meaningful web series, and Devika and Danny came as a blessing. It's an empowering story that gives hope, especially for women told they can't chase dreams. The team—from director Kishore to cinematographer Venkat Dilip—was exceptional.' Surya Vasistta, who plays Danny, shared, 'The series reflects the transformation of a girl restricted by small-town boundaries. My role is layered and impactful, and I'm thankful for this opportunity.' He also praised Ritu and Siva Kandukuri for their performances and camaraderie on set. Siva Kandukuri, playing Subbu, emphasized the series' clean and emotional storytelling. 'At a time when web series are stereotyped for bold content, Devika and Danny offers something pure and cinematic. It was a joy playing Subbu, who adds humour to the narrative.' Producer Sudhakar Chaganti called it a 'blend of emotion and entertainment,' lauding the cast and crew for bringing this seven-episode series to life. Director Kishore noted, 'We've crafted a heartfelt story with visual richness and a soul. Audiences will love every episode.' With support from Jio Hotstar and a dedicated team, Devika and Danny aims to connect deeply with viewers when it premieres on June 6.

Devika & Danny OTT Release Date: Popular Telugu actress Ritu Varma, known for her roles in Tuck Jagadish, Swag, and Mazaka, is now stepping into the OTT world with her first-ever Telugu web series. Starring alongside Surya Vashistta, the series is directed by B. Kishore, best known for Sreekaram, and created by Deepak Raj. Devika & Danny is all set to premiere on JioHotstar starting June 6, 2025. The platform announced the release date with a post that read: "One holds her hand and the other... her soul. Devika & Danny streaming from 6th June only on JioCinema." The show is backed by producer Sudhakar Chaganti under the Joy Films banner. What is Devika & Danny about? Devika & Danny revolves around the life of Devika, a simple, middle-class woman stuck in the routine of daily life. Everything seems settled as she prepares to marry a man played by Subbaraju. But just before the wedding, a priest issues a cryptic warning that someone unexpected is going to change her fate. That's when Danny, portrayed by Surya Vashistta, enters her life. The story picks up as Devika becomes increasingly curious about Danny. What begins as a brief encounter turns into a deeper connection. However, the journey isn't smooth with mystery and danger slowly starting to creep in, shaking Devika's world. The trailer hints at romance, emotional twists, and some suspenseful turns. Meet the team behind Devika & Danny Apart from Ritu Varma and Surya Vashistta in the lead, the series brings together a rich mix of talent. Shiva Kandukuri, Kovai Sarala, Subbaraju, Sonia Singh, Mounika Reddy, Harsha Chemudu (Viva Harsha), Abhinaya Sri, and Gokaraju Ramana play supporting roles. Veteran actress Kovai Sarala is also making her Telugu comeback through this show. Devika & Danny is written and created by Deepak Raj with Jay Krish handling music and background score, Venkat C Dillip as Director of Photography, and Karthikeyan Rohini handling the editing. The production design is led by Ramanjaneyulu, with creative producer Naga Nandini Ppuuli onboard.
