Man arrested in Robertsdale, sentenced for illegally reentering the United States
MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Guatemalan man arrested in Robertsdale has been sentenced for being an illegal immigrant who came into the country after being deported.

According to a United States Department of Justice news release, Mateo Juan-Lorenzo, 22, was arrested Feb. 16 by Robertsdale police for allegedly giving law enforcement officers false information.
Homeland Security was notified and they found that Juan-Lorenzo had been deported in 2024, the release said.
Juan-Lorenzo was sentenced to time served and a one-year term of supervised release. He had been in custody since his arrest in February. He was also ordered to pay $100 in special assessments and referred to immigration officials for deportation.
The Department of Homeland Security, Immigrations and Customs Enforcement and the Robertsdale Police Department investigated the case, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Kacey Chappelear prosecuted it.

The case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that uses the full resources of the Department of Justice to reduce the number of illegal immigrants coming into the country, and eliminate cartels and transnational criminal organizations.
