Olympic Gymnast Proposes to His Girlfriend in Sweet Moment After Winning NCAA Title
The Michigan Wolverines became national champions in men's gymnastics on Saturday. Their team includes two gymnasts from the bronze-medal winning U.S. team from the 2024 Paris Olympics, Paul Juda and Frederick Richard. Last summer, the two Wolverines helped the U.S. team bring home the first medal in men's gymnastics in 16 years. At the NCAA championship meet Saturday, Juda's vault score of 13.966 closed out the event for Michigan and clinched the championship for the Wolverines. It was the seventh men's gymnastics title in program history. "This is all I've ever wanted," Juda said after the win, which was his first team title as a Wolverine. Well, the day only got more special for Juda after that. Following the event, he proposed to his girlfriend Reyna Guggino, another national champion gymnast at Michigan. He grabbed the microphone on the event floor, certainly a tad nervous, before getting down on one knee and asking Guggino, "Will you marry me?" Michigan president Santa Ono congratulated the newly engaged couple following the sweet moment: You couldn't draw up a better day for Juda. He won the parallel bars individual title in addition to the team title, and he capped it off with an incredibly sweet proposal-a perfect moment for the two Michigan gymnasts. Michigan Olympic gymnast Paul Juda talks competing in Paris, winning NCAA championship and marriage proposal
After falling short the past two seasons, the University of Michigan men's gymnastics team can once again call themselves national champions for the seventh time in program history. Team captain Paul Juda raised the trophy Saturday night in his final collegiate event as a Wolverine. In the last year, Judah won medals in the 2024 Olympic Games before traveling across the country with Simone Biles on her Gold Over America Tour. Juda then returned to the Crisler Center, where he won a national championship and got down on one knee. Juda set a high bar for himself ahead of his final season in the Maize and Blue, but high bars aren't anything he's not used to. "I wrote 'Team Champions Big Ten, Team Champions NCAA,'" he said. Both were checked off the list, partly because he shared them with teammate Frederick Richard during the Olympics. "Fred demands excellence inside of this facility. I love competing with him because there's one thing to compete for Team USA together, but when you're competing for these guys together, and we got the one-two punch combo, it's awesome," Juda said. When asked how the national championship trophy compared to his Olympic medal, Juda said, "This is all that I've wanted. I wanted to hold that trophy. The Olympic medal is sweet, it's this big though. The NCAA trophy is heavy, it's huge, it's gold. Yeah, it's everything I wanted." His love for his sport then ceded the spotlight to his true love. On Saturday, he proposed to his girlfriend right then and there. "I felt it in my heart. I brought the ring and go, 'I'm going to give myself the chance to do it. If it feels right, I'm going to send it. If it doesn't, then whatever,'" Juda said. "We win the national championship, I'm crying my eyes out, but most importantly, I got the partner for the rest of my life here. The age-old question is, 'Well, Paul, what would you have done if you guys didn't win?' and I always say I guess we'll never know." Juda says he's finally going to take it easy for a couple of months once he graduates with his third degree from U of M. With all of the boxes checked for his Michigan experience, he says he's looking forward to facing whatever challenge comes next.

Heartwarming moment Olympic gymnast proposes to girlfriend after winning national title
Olympic gymnast Paul Juda was not done with his festivities for the evening after helping Michigan win an NCAA title, as he got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend near the pommel horse. It was Juda's 13.966 on vault that clinched the NCAA men's gymnastics championship for the Wolverines, with the Team USA star having a different ending in mind to the night than most. Juda took the microphone at in Ann Arbor, with the Wolverines hosting the national-championship meet, with his partner and fellow Michigan gymnast Reyna Guggino, on the floor during the title celebration. 'You make me a better man, a better person,' Juda said before popping the question. Guggino immediately teared up after Juda got to one knee before accepting his marriage proposal and kissing her now-fiance. 'YOU & ME FOREVER,' Guggino later posted on Instagram. 'Thankful that God brought me you. One ring for the NCAAs and one ring for me. Pretty sure I got the better deal.' Guggino traveled to France to watch her man wear the red, white, and blue in person. The Wolverines' national title means both Juda and Guggino are national champions, with the Michigan women hoisting the crown in 2021. Fellow Michigan competitor Fred Richard was also part of the Americans' triumph in Paris and is a national champion. Juda and Guggino celebrated four years as a couple last September with a roll of photos on Instagram, including one of them at a beach.

Olympic medalist Paul Juda helps Michigan to national title, pops question to girlfriend
Paul Juda helped the U.S. Olympic team to a bronze medal in men's artistic gymnastics in Paris last summer and the winning never stopped for the 23-year-old. Juda, along with fellow Olympian Fred Richard, helped the Michigan Wolverines to a men's gymnastics national championship on Saturday. Richard and Juda finished first and second, respectively, in the all-around, giving Michigan the edge over Stanford. Juda scored a 13.966 on vault to clinch the national title. The Wolverines were jubilant as Juda's score came in. Michigan finished second to Stanford at the 2024 national championships. Michigan trailed Oklahoma going into the final and it came down to Juda to help put the Wolverines over the top. Michigan held onto the win by just 0.163 points. The 2021 Pan American silver medalist had more on his mind than just hoisting a national title. He took the microphone and had one important question for the love of his life, Reyna Guggino, "Will you marry me?" "You make me a better man, a better person," Juda said before getting down on one knee. Guggino, in tears, said "yes" and she received a ring as well. Guggino is also a gymnast at Michigan. She was a part of the 2021 national championship team and was the second-ever gymnast in NCAA history to start a rotation with a perfect 10. The 2025 season was her last year in competition. She graduated from the school with a degree in biology, health and society. Follow Fox News Digital's sports coverage on X and subscribe to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter.
