Meet actress who once ruled Bollywood with Govinda, starred with Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, vanished at her peak because.., he name is.., she is now.. In the glittering world of Bollywood, many actors come and go every day to Mumbai with a suitcase full of dreams to make it big on the silver screen. However, in this fleeting industry where the fate of an actor changes every Friday, there are rarely a few actors who remain etched in the memory of the audience and carve a niche for themselves. One such story is of an actress who entered the industry during the golden era, the times when Madhuri Dixit and Karishma Kapoor were dominating the Indian cinema. This actress came with a whirlwind and captivated the hearts of many with her expressive eyes and natural charm. The actress we are talking about is none other than Rambha. Born as Vijaylakshmi in Andhra Pradesh, she stepped into the industry when she was only 16. Before venturing into Bollywood cinema, she had already done some work in Telugu cinema. But her Bollywood debut began with Jallad which came in 1995. She starred opposite Mithun Chakraborty and was massively appreciated. Her strong performance and natural innocence stood out to the audience, and she started getting many opportunities. She appeared in many hit films like Judwaa, Jung, Kehar, Bandhan, Beti No.1, Dil Hi Dil Mein, and Daanveer, and soon she became a household name with immense popularity. But besides gaining massive popularity in Bollywood, Rambha was also a popular name in South cinema. She also worked with top South Indian actors like Rajinikanth, Venkatesh, Vijay, Mammootty, and Ravi Chandran. Even in Bollywood, she had worked with top stars like Govinda, Salman Khan. Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, and Anil Kapoor. During the peak of her career, she decided to step away from the limelight. She tied the knot with a Canadian businessman, Indrakumar Pathmanathan in Tirumala in the year 2010. She shifted her focus to her family life and devoted all her time to her husband and children. Rambha now lives a private life in Canada with her husband and three kids, Laanya (born in 2011), Sasha (2015), and a son born in 2018 She last appeared in the Malayalam film Filmstar in 2011. Since then, she has been away from the acting world. Whether in the limelight or not, Rambha will always be fondly remembered as the rare star who managed to win the hearts of both the Hindi and South Indian audiences.

Mrunal Thakur is beyond grateful for being a David Dhawan heroine

Actress Mrunal Thakur is still unable to believe that she is working with the celebrated director David Dhawan in her next, 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.' Spilling her excitement about the same, Mrunal dropped a post on her Instagram handle saying, 'Still pinching myself! Guyssssss I am David Dhawans Heroine! I'm beyond grateful Sir.' The 'Sita Ramam' actress also dropped a lovely photograph from Glasgow, where the shoot of the film is taking place at the moment. The image showed the diva playfully resting her head on the filmmaker's shoulders as they both smiled for the camera. On Saturday, co-star Mouni Roy also joined the 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' team for the shoot in Glasgow. Taking to social media, 'The Bhootnii' actress dropped a couple of pictures with Mrunal and Varun, along with the caption, 'So glad to be on set with my beauty @mrunalthakur and the dapper @varundvn #HJTIHH.' Backed by Ramesh Taurani under the TIPS banner, 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' marks the reunion of Varun and his father. The project enjoys an ensemble cast that includes Mrunal, Mouni, Varun, Chunkey Panday, Pooja Hegde, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Rakesh Bedi, Ali Asgar, Kubbra Sait, Rohit Saraf, Rajeev Khandelwal, Nitish Nirmal, and Sreeleela, among others. It might be interesting to know that, 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai' was a hit song from David Dhawan's 1999 film 'Biwi No 1', starring Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Sushmita Sen. Prior to Glasgow, Varun and Pooja took off to Rishikesh to shoot a sequence for 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai'. Over and above this, Mrunal is waiting for the release of Shaneil Deo's Dacoit', where she will be seen sharing the screen with 'Major' actor Adivi Sesh. Along with 'Dacoit', Mrunal will also play the female lead opposite Ajay Devgn in the much-anticipated sequel, 'Son of Sardaar 2'. She also has a romantic entertainer with Siddhant Chaturvedi in her kitty. Meanwhile, from buying tickets for David Dhawan's film in black to being directed by him, life has truly come full circle for actor Maniesh Paul. It might be exciting to know that years ago, Paul watched Dhawan's 'Judwaa', starring Salman Khan at Delhi's iconic Sapna Theatre, by getting tickets in black. The film left an impression on him with its comedy, music, and Dhawan's trademark masala storytelling. Like many film enthusiasts growing up in the 90s, Maniesh experienced cinema as a celebration, sometimes even going the extra mile to secure a seat for the biggest releases of the time. That memory has stayed with him — not just as a fan moment, but as a reminder of where it all began. Turning back the clock, during a recent podcast, Paul said, 'It was a very amazing feeling when David sir said me 'Action'. I was in 10th standard when 'Judwaa' released and I had purchased the ticket for the film in black at Sapna Theatre in Delhi. Indo-Asian News Service

Vaani Kapoor Radiates Timeless Grace in Red at WAVES 2025 Summit

Last Updated: Vaani Kapoor stuns in a scarlet organza saree that perfectly balances tradition with contemporary elegance. Vaani Kapoor turned heads at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 with a look that effortlessly blended old-world charm and modern minimalism. Draped in a vivid scarlet saree, the actress offered a striking masterclass in how to make tradition feel refreshingly current. Her saree — a sheer organza masterpiece edged with delicate gold embroidery — celebrated fluidity and finesse. It was paired with a matching blouse featuring tonal mirrorwork and subtle thread embroidery on the sleeves, lending quiet opulence without overwhelming the ensemble. The deep red hue played beautifully against her skin, while the light-catching textures gave the look a gentle luminosity under camera flashes. What truly elevated Vaani's appearance was the restraint in styling. A sleek, low ponytail kept the focus on the saree's silhouette and the elegant drape. Her makeup echoed this ethos — luminous skin, softly defined eyes, a hint of highlighter, and glossy pink lips made for a flawless yet unfussy finish. The single red bindi added a touch of traditional poetry to the overall look. advetisement Vaani accessorised with sculptural gold and emerald drop earrings and a single silver kada, striking the right chord between drama and sophistication. The jewellery complemented rather than competed with the saree, anchoring the look with quiet authority. Style Notes: Vaani's look is a refined guide for contemporary festive dressing — think strong monochromes, light embellishments, and sharp tailoring. For those looking to recreate this, opt for organza or silk sarees with tonal embroidery, pair them with minimalist jewellery, and finish with sleek hair and radiant makeup. When done right, as Vaani shows, less truly is more — and red, when worn with this kind of confidence, is always a power move.
