Squid Game Season 2 Ending Recap Before Season 3 Hits Netflix
Curious to know what happens at the end of Season 2? The finale, titled 'Friend or Foe,' follows the remaining players as they try to survive. Gi-hun devises a strategic plan to rebel but needs allies he can trust. By the end, the Front Man appears and kills Gi-hun's closest friend, making him realize there's no hope left. From a shocking death to a spine-chilling mid-credits scene, here's what unfolds in the Squid Game Season 2 ending. Gi-hun's close friend, Jung-bae, dies in the final episode of Squid Game Season 2. The finale centers on Gi-hun and his trusted allies as they launch an armed rebellion against those running the deadly game. Initially, the players feel a glimmer of hope, believing they've seized control of the arena. However, they don't realize the game was never meant to let them win. The Front Man, disguised as Young-il (Player 001), makes sure their uprising fails. After splitting from the group, he fakes his own death as Young-il and kills two other rebels. Using a radio, he orders the guards to crush the rebellion. He then discards his Player 001 disguise and reappears in his true form as the Front Man, wearing his signature black cloak and mask. He confronts Gi-hun and tells him that all his efforts have been in vain. To drive the point home, he kills Jung-bae in front of him, forcing Gi-hun to confront the pain of failure and loss. He spares Gi-hun's life, believing that living with the unbearable grief of losing a loved one is a greater punishment than death. The season ends with a mid-credits scene featuring Players 096, 100, and 353 entering the play area, where they encounter the terrifying doll Young-hee—now joined by her new companion, Cheol-su.

It's Game (Almost) Over In the Final Squid Game Trailer
Squid Game has been one of Netflix's biggest hits in recent memory, and we've known for quite a while that the show was reaching the finish line. With just two weeks to go, Netflix has doled out one last trailer to remind auidneces how far Seong Gi-hun/456 has come and how much he's playing for keeps. Last season ended with Gi-hun learning his new game buddy In-ho/001 was actually the Front Man, who then killed his other game buddy, Jung-bae. That's made for one more death weighing on Gi-hun's conscience, and as Jang Geum-ja/149 tells him, life ain't fair and shit happens. But since he's a good person and 'beats [himself] up about the smallest things,' what else can he do but continue trying to bring this whole enterprise down and save the remaining contestants? While surviving players from the previous season are as beat down by everything as Gi-hun, they're not all giving up, and some new faces are equally ready to come out on top. Front Man's brother Jun-ho is trying to make it to the island for a rescue, but everything ultimately hinges on Gi-hun. And that means an eventual reunion with the Front Man, who's preparing for the incoming arrival of several VIPs and whatever the next phase of his plans are. How does it all end, and how will Gi-hun 'put an end to it?' We'll find out when the last six episodes of Squid Game premiere June 27 on Netflix.
