Serving Op Sindoor won't give immunity: Top court to commando accused of dowry death
The Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to entertain a Black Cat Commando's plea and asked him to surrender in dowry death of his wife 20 years ago. The Commando, in his plea, sought exemption, saying that he served in Operation Sindoor. When the bench expressed disinclination from granting an exemption, the petitioner's counsel said he had been serving in Rashtriya Rifles for 20 can only leave with one line, I am a participant of Operation Sindoor. However, the bench refused to grant relief and Justice Bhuyan said, 'That doesn't give you immunity from committing atrocity at home. This goes to show how physically fit you are, and the manner in which alone you could have killed your wife, strangulated your wife.'- Ends
