Celebrity Wheel of Fortune fans make same blistering complaint about the contestants

Wheel of Fortune fans were thrilled to see Pat Sajak back on their screens - but not everyone was impressed with the rest of the line up. The longtime host, 78, who previously handed over the reins of the main series to Ryan Seacrest, made a return for a celebrity edition of the show. However, while many viewers welcomed the dose of nostalgia, others had a bone to pick with the celebrities featured. The latest episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune starred Alvin and the Chipmunks actor Justin Long, Lucifer actress Rachael Harris, and Women's National Basketball Association star Cameron Brink. People on Reddit were less than impressed with the lineup and shared their opinions on the post titled: 'Celebrity (?) Wheel??' 'I admit: I am not plugged into pop culture at all, so I know I'm probably just ignorant, but who are these people?' the poster wrote. 'I've never heard of any of the ones when I manage to tune in.' 'If you have to Google them, they're not celebrities,' another user chimed in. Others agreed, with one viewer saying the trio 'barely qualifies' for the show's title. 'The only one I recognize is Justin Long and even that's a stretch,' one person added. 'Great show to watch but I think the word "celebrity" just might be a stretch for many guests on the show,' someone penned. Someone responded: 'Agree, kind of like Dancing with the Stars.' 'I often Google to find who they are. Celebrity indeed,' a comment read. Still, some fans were quick to defend the casting. 'Tonight's Celeb wheel had two pretty famous people. Justin Long has been in NUMEROUS movies,' one supporter wrote. 'Rachael Harris is a comedian who has been in numerous TV shows (Lucifer being her longest-tenured). Nobody knows WNBA players except for Caitlyn Clark. Lol. 'The girl tonight was the second overall pick so she's kinda high profile in the league I'd say.' While the celebrity picks sparked backlash, Pat Sajak's return seemed to charm longtime fans - many of whom have struggled to warm up to Seacrest's revamped version of the show. 'And Pat came back to host? I thought he was completely retired,' someone wondered. 'I think Pat coming back for that's kinda neat, personally,' another replied. Seacrest took over hosting duties for the regular edition earlier this year, upgrading the puzzle board and visuals, as well as better prizes, including concert and sports tickets.

One of my favorite horror movies just landed on Netflix — and it's already crashed the top 10

When you've seen as many horror movies as I have, it's rare to find one that I can't spot where it's going from a mile away. That doesn't mean I enjoy them any less, of course, but when one defies my expectations — not in a cheap way either, but with genuinely chilling twists — I have to sound the alarm to other horror fans that this is one worth watching. That's the case with "Barbarian," Zack Cregger's haunting horror thriller and first solo directorial debut. "Barbarian" just landed on Netflix this week (June 1) after leaving Hulu, and it's already jumped to the No. 3 spot in the streamer's top 10 movies list. "Black Mirror" actress Georgina Campbell proves her scream queen chops alongside horror veterans Bill Skarsgard and Justin Long in a nightmare twist on a home invasion movie. It's a truly unforgettable and disturbing film that takes such a violently sharp turn midway through, it feels like watching two movies fused together, yet it's somehow the better for it. This is a horror movie made for horror movie fans. It's brilliant how Cregger uses casting choices and genre hallmarks to keep you off balance with each shocking new discovery. I'm not alone in thinking that either: In a rare feat for the genre, "Barbarian" earned a 92% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. "Barbarian" is one of those horror films you're best going into blind, but if you need a bit of convincing before dedicating your precious streaming time (hey, we get it), then here's all the details you need to know about the latest hit horror movie on Netflix. The premise is deceptively simple: A young woman named Tess Marshall (Campbell) travels to Detroit for a job interview only to find her Airbnb has been double-booked. Its location couldn't be more of a red flag either, surrounded by a decaying, nearly abandoned neighborhood. Her unexpected roommate Keith seems harmless enough, but since he's played by Bill Skarsgård (aka Pennywise in the "It" films), horror fans are bound to eye him with suspicion from the jump. Despite the alarm bells going off in her head, Tess decides to stay the night. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Naturally, things spiral from there. The pair stumble upon a hidden basement passage that leads to a maze of underground tunnels filled with chains on filthy mattresses, surveillance cameras, and blood-streaked walls. As disturbing of a picture that paints, it's the discovery of a monstrous woman lurking in the depths that turns their uneasy stay into a full-blown nightmare. Another big name in horror — Justin Long, best known for "Jeepers Creepers" and "Tusk" — also joins the fray in a way I won't spoil. Let's just say, Keith and Tess realize they're far from the first to uncover the house's horrors. It all builds to some of the most stomach-churning scenes I've ever seen in a horror movie, but "Barbarian" doesn't play it completely straight. Beneath the terror lies a sharp, dark sense of humor and twists on what horror fans expect that make the scares that much more chilling. While "Barbarian" employs plenty of classic horror elements that fans will pick up on, the film flips expectations in clever, unsettling ways that will trigger your flight-or-fight instinct as characters race through claustrophobic halls. It's a sharp, unpredictable film (even if you think you know where it's going, trust me, you don't) that balances suspense and terror with bursts of well-timed humor that keep you engaged. It's not without its flaws, of course. The third act meanders a bit, and one big reveal was so zany I struggled to suspend my disbelief even as the action heated up. But even with those gripes, I can confidently say "Barbarian" earns a spot alongside genre standouts like "Get Out" and "Hereditary" as one of the rare modern horror films that genuinely deserves your attention. Don't just take my word for it, though. "Barbarian" nabbed a 92% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes, though audiences weren't as keen on i,t given its 70% on the Popcornmeter. Slate's Sam Adams called it the "smartest, funniest horror movie in ages" in his glowing review: "'Barbarian's' script thinks through its problems as much as it needs to, and no more: It knows that horror and logic are enemies at heart, and the trick is to make us desire the knowledge of what's behind that door more than we care why it's opened. Its best trick is that there's more than one door. Variety's Peter Debruge said of the director that "the sense of dread he creates is the stuff that the very best horror movies are made of." Not every critic was as sold on Cregger's directorial choices, though. In a review for The Guardian, Benjamin Lee criticized the movie for gesturing at hot-button topics without saying much, describing it as "a defiantly unscary lump of Midnight Madness schlock that gains nothing from showcasing an awareness of the #MeToo reckoning or the damage of gentrification other than box-ticking." Whatever your impression, "Barbarian's" arrival on Netflix couldn't be more perfectly timed. Cregger's next horror film, "Weapons," one of our most anticipated movies of the summer, is set to hit theaters on August 8, so it's the perfect chance to check out the movie that put him on the map. Given that "Barbarian" was both a critical and commercial success, I can't wait to see what twisted tale he's cooked up next. Stream "Barbarian" on Netflix now.

Paris Jackson goes bra-free in a skimpy tank top as she holds hands with fiance Justin Long

and her fiancé Justin Long, 46 - the music producer not the actor - were spotted on a stroll in Calabasas, California over the weekend. Paris, 27, looked California chic as she went bra-free in a white tank top that showed off the colorful tattoos covering her slender arms. She paired the tank with a pair of jeans with one of the knees ripped and a straw cowboy hat. The daughter of the late Michael Jackson wore her blonde hair down and wavy. Long, meanwhile, had his curly hair pulled into a ponytail and wore a black tank top and jeans. The love birds announced their engagement in early December. Paris and Justin met in 2022 and their relationship was professional before it was romantic. 'Happy birthday my sweet blue,' she wrote in a birthday tribute announcing their engagement. 'Doing life with you these last years has been an indescribable whirlwind, and I couldn't dream of anyone more perfect for me to do it all with. Thank you for letting me be yours. I love you.' According to his LinkedIn, Justin attended college in Indiana at Grace College & Seminary where he graduated in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in marketing and business administration. He transitioned to music full-time in 2013 and has worked with artists including Grace Potter, The Wombats and Sleater Kinney. Over the past couple of years, Justin has been developing apps and products for the music industry. At Do It Different, LLC, Justin 'Developed Dayly -- an app that is, in essence, "Moneyball", but for Life. It is available now on the Apple App Store.' And at FOH King, he is listed as the 'Creator of the HOTSWAP, the 4-Channel Passive A/B/C Audio Console Switcher. Pre-order NOW for limited time discount, units will be shipping in May '25.' Not long after Paris announced her engagement, she also admitted she was a heroin addict celebrating five year of sobriety. 'hi, i'm pk and i'm an alcoholic and a heroin addict,' she wrote. 'today marks 5 years clean & sober from all drugs and alcohol. 'to say that i'm thankful would be a poor euphemism. gratitude hardly scratches the surface. it's because i'm sober that i get to smile today. 'i get to make music. i get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat. i get to feel heartbreak in all it's glory. i get to grieve. i get to laugh. 'i get to dance. i get to trust. i feel the sun on my skin and it's warm. i've found that life keeps happening regardless of whether i'm sober or not, but today i get to show up for it. She added, 'here's a little snapshot of what has been possible because of my sobriety, and my god i can't believe i almost missed it all,' along with a video. It appears her journey from addiction to a clean and sober lifestyle will be among the personal topics she explores in the lyrics for the new album. In fact, she shared how her words may be 'hard for some people to hear' once the new songs are eventually released. 'I mean, is some of it going to be hard for some people to hear? For sure, yeah, because what I'm talking about is a lot of touchy things,' she explained during an interview on Live From Bed podcast with host Jade Iovine in 2024. 'Some people might have a hard time.' Paris released her first solo studio album, Wilted, back in November 2020, and has dropped some singles following her second EP The Lost in February 2022. Most recently, she released the 2023 single Bandaid, which made use of the soft-hard dynamic between the verses and chorus, that's been a stylized songwriting tool with some of the alternative rock bands of yesteryear like Nirvana. Her previous single Just You, which dropped in 2022, is also another catchy sing-along, mid-tempo rock romper. The Beverly Hills native began her musical career by teaming up with Gabriel Glenn to form The Soundflowers in 2018. With a stripped down acoustic sound, including Paris on vocals and a ukulele and Glenn on guitar and vocals, the duo dropped their self-titled EP in June 2020.

EXCLUSIVE Paris Jackson and older fiancé spotted in matching grungy outfits on rare LA outing days before she glammed out at amfAR Gala

has openly admitted her struggles following the death of her superstar father Michael Jackson and harrowing journey to sobriety from alcohol and heroin. But her road to recovery appears to be a lighter load with her much older fiancé Justin Long by her side, which was apparent as Paris looked at ease as she and her man walked hand in hand to grab takeout. But a few days later Paris, 27, showed her glam side as she turned up solo for Thursday's amFAR Gala in Cannes, France in a daring thigh-baring outfit. The couple's stroll in Malibu led them to the trendy cafe Sunlife Organics which caters to her vegan lifestyle. With six months of engagement under their belt, Paris and Long, 46, were more than comfortable sporting a grungy look as embarked down the empty street on the morning of May 4. Putting her bleach blonde locks into a messy bun, Paris wore a green long-sleeve shirt with an evil eye motif, black leggings and tan running shoes. Long wore a distressed Van Halen t-shirt, accompanied by gray sweats and white Vans-styled sneakers. Butit was a totally different look in Cannes. As she sauntered down the red carpet for the festival's annual amfAR Cannes Gala, her slit-way-up-to-there outfit turned heads. The cream gown was embroidered with a cluster of shimmering silver beads along the neckline and seamlessly transitioned into a structured bodice with daring shoulder pads, drawing attention to her silhouette before cascading into a sheer, floor-length skirt. The layered design revealed a nude bodysuit underneath, while a racy thigh-high slit offered an alluring glimpse of her toned legs as she walked. She elevated her outfit with a pair of nude heels and accessorized with silver jewelry. Paris pulled her blonde locks into a stylish updo and finished off her look with a swipe of satin red lipstick. The layered cream gown Paris wore in Cannes revealed a nude bodysuit underneath, while a racy thigh-high slit offered an alluring glimpse of her toned legs as she walked the red carpet Her outfit skirted the line of Cannes' newly implemented dress code, which was devised for 'the sake of decency' and bans nudity, long trains and voluminous outfits. Long wasn't in France with Paris for the Gala, but the pair were spotted together at another well-known event in February, the Grammy Awards Viewing Party at the Hollywood Palladium. The couple appeared radiant and in love as they embraced each other for a photo. A stark contrast from the somber reveal Paris had dropped on social media a month prior. The singer posted a video to Instagram on January 7 revealing that she was five years into her sobriety journey from heroin and alcohol, featuring disturbing clips that showed the darkest moments of her dependence. 'Hi, I'm pk and I'm an alcoholic and a heroin addict,' she wrote. 'Today marks 5 years clean & sober from all drugs and alcohol. To say that I'm thankful would be a poor euphemism. Gratitude hardly scratches the surface. 'It's because I'm sober that I get to smile today. I get to make music. I get to experience the joy of loving my dogs and cat. I get to feel heartbreak in all its glory. I get to grieve. I get to laugh. I get to dance. I get to trust. 'I feel the sun on my skin and it's warm. I've found that life keeps happening regardless of whether I'm sober or not, but today I get to show up for it. 'Here's a little snapshot of what has been possible because of my sobriety, and my god I can't believe I almost missed it all,' she finished off the heartbreaking caption. This confirmed the speculation that had been swirling through the airwaves, despite Paris' persistent denial. Even some members of her famous family revealed they were left completely in the dark when it came to her private struggles with addiction. An insider close to Janet Jackson – Michael's younger sister – exclusively told she 'had no idea' that her niece was battling addiction and was 'heartbroken when she found out with the rest of the world'. Paris's journey to sobriety was complicated by feelings of depression and anxiety. Speaking to Rolling Stone in 2017, the singer admitted she had attempted suicide at age 15 and was later hospitalized. She described how several of her tattoos conceal both track marks from drug use and self-harm scars. 'It was just self-hatred, low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn't do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore,' she confessed. The loss of her father, who struggled with his own drug use that led to his death at his Los Angeles mansion at age 50, also contributed to her spiral. But multiple rehab stints, a therapeutic school she attended for her sophomore and part of her junior year in high school and the supportive love from Long appears to have mended some of those wounds. The couple are believed to have started dating in 2022, and while it's unclear when exactly they got engaged - though she was spotted wearing the ring back in September – they announced their joyous moment on December 6, 2024. 'Happy birthday my sweet blue,' she wrote in a birthday tribute announcing their engagement.

Emile Hirsch, Justin Long and Kevin Connolly Teaming for Parasite Horror ‘Lice,' Highland Film Group Selling in Cannes (EXCLUSIVE)

A parasitic invasion of lice is set to hit Long Island in an upcoming feature described as a horror mashup of 'The Breakfast Club' and 'Lord of the Flies.' Simply entitled 'Lice,' the feature marks the first from Kevin Connolly's ActionPark Productions alongside partner Patrick Marino, and is set to star Emile Hirsch ('Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,' 'Into the Wild'), Justin Long ('Barbarian,' 'Goosebumps'), and Connolly ('Entourage') himself. The film — billed as a 'gruesome throwback to '80s high school classics' — begins production this week in Canada. More from Variety Tilda Swinton to Star in David Lowery's 'Death in Her Hands' From See-Saw Films Colombia Takes Center Stage at Cannes, led by Simón Mesa Soto's 'A Poet' in Un Certain Regard Luke Evans Joins Noomi Rapace in 'Traction,' Action-Thriller Set in Chechnya (EXCLUSIVE) Highland Film Group is repping international rights, handling sales at the Marché du Film. Director/cinematographer Jonathan Bensimon makes his feature directorial debut with a script written by Anthony Musella and Shaun Harris ('The Hemingway Thief'), from an original concept by Connolly. The film is produced by Connolly, Jeremy Alter, and Gary Goldman, who recently collaborated on 'Entourage' creator Doug Ellin's 'Ramble On,' which starred Charlie Sheen, Connolly and Kevin Dillon. 'Lice' follows a deadly outbreak of the parasite at a Long Island high school in the 1980s. When the school goes under military lockdown, the itch-crazed students turn on each other in a desperate struggle to survive. Hirsch stars as burned-out science teacher Mr. Shanker, who finds new purpose as he investigates the bloodthirsty mites, Long as Principal Van, a man who is out of his depth and soon out of his mind, and Connolly as the tenacious Detective Sikorski, the desperate cop on the outside racing against time to contain the outbreak before it consumes the entire town. 'I wanted to make the kind of movies that I loved as a kid,' said Connolly. 'I'm a horror fan and I wanted to make something for guys like me — fun, weird, scary, and completely unpredictable. It made perfect sense to launch our feature division with a project this bold and ambitious. Jonathan Bensimon is that rare combination of creative mind and brilliant technician. And when you get two incredible actors who can blend comedy and drama the way Emile and Justin can, you've really got something special on your hands.' Added Bensimon: 'Kevin Connolly sent me a script that was a real pager turner and with him and Shaun Harris we turned it into a pulpy horror feature with a cast that deftly mixes darkness and levity to create something truly unique. I'm especially excited to collaborate with Kodak and Cinestill, blending stylistic techniques, to design visuals to give 'Lice' a signature look.' 'Lice is stylish, visually arresting, and hilariously disturbing—everything I love in a project,' said producer Alter. Fellow producer Gary Goldman added, 'Kevin and I have been looking to do a movie like this together since Entourage. It's just such a great concept and something that is a core fear for most parents.' Hirsch is represented by Stride Management and UTA; Long is repped by Independent Artist Group and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.
