CESC: Endurance test for junior powerman posts begins in Mysuru
The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has launched the recruitment process for the posts of junior powerman through an endurance test starting Monday.
At an event held at the Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad here, MLA and CESC chairman Ramesh Bandisiddegowda inaugurated the endurance test.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the recruitment process is entirely transparent, and urged the staff 'to work sincerely without yielding to any inducements, thereby bringing a good name to the corporation'. He also wished the candidates success.
For the 309 vacant junior powerman posts in the corporation, the endurance test is being conducted from May 12 to 16 at a ratio of 1:5. The first phase includes five types of physical tests, such as pole climbing and running. Candidates must qualify in at least three out of five tests. A final shortlist will then be prepared at a 1:1 ratio based on SSLC (Class 10) examination merit, according to the CESC officials.
Candidates appearing for the endurance test must bring original documents and one set of photocopies as per the educational and reservation details mentioned in their application, a note from the CESC said.
'Through this endurance test, candidates selected for the corporation should work efficiently while prioritising their safety. The recruitment process is being conducted with utmost transparency based on merit and endurance and in accordance with the government's reservation policy,' said K.M. Munigopal Raju, managing director, CESC.
Chief engineer D.J. Divakar, superintending engineer Sunil, chief financial officer Renuka, general manager of administration and HR B.R. Roopa, Superintendent of Police (vigilance squad) Savita Hoogar, and others were present.
