Now, people can help shape A.P. govt's population management policy
Eluru District Collector K. Vetriselvi on Friday (June 6) said public opinion is being collected by the Planning Department via QR codes to involve the public in shaping the population management policy. The exercise will end on June 20. The Collector unveiled a wall poster titled 'Every Family Matters–Your Opinion Guides Us', published by the Planning Department, at the Collectorate. The Planning Department is collecting public suggestions to ensure people's participation in designing the Population Management Policy, aimed at achieving demographic equilibrium. People can scan the QR code on the poster and respond to nine questions, offering their insights. She noted that the government is preparing long-term plans for the development of every household. She emphasised that this survey not only encourages the youth to build a well-planned future, but also helps working professionals achieve a better work-life balance by offering the needed policy support. District Chief Planning Officer Ch. Vasudeva Rao and staff from his office participated in the event.

Mega DSC exams off to a peaceful start in Eluru
Eluru District Collector K. Vetriselvi on Friday (June 6) said the Mega District Selection Committee (DSC) exams has begun peacefully in the district. On Friday, she made a surprise inspection of the examination centre at Siddhartha CBSE School in Vatluru, Eluru. She examined the arrangements and the conduct of the examinations at the centre. She said that three exam centres have been arranged in the district for the DSC exams, being held from June 6 to June 30. Each day, the exams will be held in two shifts: from 9:30 a.m. to noon and from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. A total of 17,584 candidates are expected to appear for these exams. Police security has been arranged at all exam centres, and Section 144 (CrPC) has been enforced. For the convenience of candidates, a control room has also been set up with the following phone numbers: 9030723444 and 9505644555. The Collector advised all candidates to reach their assigned exam centres well ahead of time.

Eluru collector orders district-wide civil mock drills
To strengthen public preparedness and raise awareness on civil protection, the Eluru district administration will conduct mock drills throughout the district in accordance with the Civil Defence Rules prescribed by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Eluru District Collector K. Vetriselvi held a teleconference with officials from the police, revenue, fire, medical, and other emergency service departments on Wednesday regarding the civil mock drill initiative. Ms. Vetriselvi emphasised the need for coordinated participation by all emergency service departments. She stressed in particular, that mock drills should be conducted at all major industrial establishments in the district, with a focus on advanced civil safety measures. She said: 'The mock drill report must be documented with photographic evidence and submitted to the District Collectorate following each drill.' Additionally, she instructed Revenue Divisional Officers (RDOs) to collaborate with officials in their respective mandals to spread awareness on civil protection among the people. She also recommended organising rehearsals and mock drill programmes as part of the awareness campaign.

Eluru Collector holds coordination meeting on Intermediate supplementary exams
Eluru District Collector K. Vetriselvi on Wednesday (May 7) directed officials to conduct the Intermediate Supplementary Examinations, scheduled to be held from May 12 to 20 in the district, in an efficient manner. Speaking at a coordination meeting here, Ms. Vetriselvi underlined the need for appropriate arrangements to ensure that students do not face any inconvenience. For the 1st year Intermediate supplementary exams (general and vocational), 10,068 students are expected to appear and 3,035 students for 2nd year exams (general and vocational). A total of 34 exam centres have been arranged, she said. First-aid kits should be made available and ANMs (auxiliary nurse midwives) assigned to each centre. Preparations must also be made to ensure an uninterrupted electricity and drinking water supply. Mobile phones will not be allowed in exam centres, she said. Ms. Vetriselvi said remedial classes are being held in all colleges for those appearing for the supplementary exams. The students are requested to attend these training sessions, she said, adding that she would make surprise inspections of these classes. RTC officials have been told to run special buses aligned with exam timings. Section 163-B must be enforced in the vicinity of all the exam centres, which should also be under CCTV surveillance. A control room with phone number 08812230197 will coordinate the exam arrangements. Tight security should be in place at strongrooms, and flying squads and sitting squads should be deployed. Women police personnel should be stationed at each exam centre. District Revenue Officer V. Visweshwar Rao, RIO K. Yohan, DIEO T. Shekhar Babu, DPO K. Anuradha, RTC DM B. Vani, principals of Koyyalagudem and Kukkunoor Government Junior Colleges L. Shyam Kumar and K. Srinivasa Rao, and officials from the electricity and postal departments were present.
