Search underway for man accused of casing houses in Chehalis
The Thurston County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man accused of casing houses in Chehalis and then sending law enforcement on a high-speed chase. On Tuesday, Chehalis police called for backup when the man refused to pull over. They said their suspect was headed northbound on I-5 in a white H2 Hummer. At some point, deputies say the driver slammed on the brakes, turned around, and began driving the wrong way on the highway. Sheriff Derek Sanders says he started a rolling slowdown to try and prevent a deadly crash. The driver of the Hummer eventually crossed the median after seeing traffic and took off toward College Street. Law enforcement says they found the Hummer in an abandoned parking lot – still running. It was impounded. Deputies called for K9 Asher, who tracked the man through school properties in the area and out to Martin Way, where it's believed someone picked him up. The Thurston County Sheriff's Office shared a picture of the Hummer and a still image of the man from a surveillance camera. He was last seen wearing black shorts and a black cut-off tank top. He has a man bun and several tattoos on his forearms. Car rear-ends motorcyclist, then runs them over in Thurston County
In a serious road rage incident on Saturday, a driver in Scott Lake hit a motorcyclist who was sent onto the windshield of their car, the Thurston County Sheriff's Office (TCSO) posted on Facebook. After the driver slammed on the brakes, the rider slid off the car, and the driver proceeded to run them over and dragged the motorcycle a few hundred feet before getting out of the car and running on foot, TSCO said. Following an hour-long search, a deputy with a K9 found the driver running down the street. Dashcam posted by the sheriff's office shows the driver getting arrested before being charged with DUI, vehicular assault, and felony hit and run. They were also booked for a previous domestic violence case from 2024. Earlier today, TCSO units were dispatched to a road rage serious injury collision in Scott Lake. Deputies learned that a car rear ended a motorcyclist, who hit the windshield of the car. The driver of the car kept driving with the motorcyclist on the windshield, slammed the brakes to get the rider off their car, then ran them over. The car then dragged the bike another few hundred feet before the driver fled on foot. K9 Asher and deputies tracked for approximately one hour but did not catch up to the suspect. K9 Asher remained in the area and continued searching, locating the suspect running down the street. I was on my way back from a community event and stopped to assist. The driver was taken into custody without further incident, and showed signs of impairment. After being processed for DUI, the driver will be booked into jail for vehicular assault, felony hit and run, DUI, and an unrelated domestic violence burglary case from 2024.
