Two teens arrested for stolen car after K9 chase in Monroe
MONROE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two teens were arrested after being chased down by a K9 after allegedly stealing a car, according to the Monroe Police Department.
Around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 25, officers saw a stolen Toyota Tacoma on Sunset Drive. The driver reportedly led the officer to the dead end on Keswick Place, where the two suspects, ages 17 and 14, jumped out and ran into the woods.

K9 Narco followed a scent trail through the woods and wheat field for a mile before finding the suspects, officials said.
One of the teens was treated by medical personnel for non-serious injuries sustained from a K9 bite. They were both released to a parent and will be charged through the Department of Juvenile Justice for larceny of a motor vehicle and resisting arrest.
