KAG Canada acquires milk hauler Fisher Transport

North America's biggest tank trucking company, Kenan Advantage Group (KAG), announced it has acquired Nova Scotia-based liquid bulk hauler Fisher Transport through its Canadian subsidiary, KAG Canada. Fisher Transport is a 60-year-old carrier focused on hauling milk along Canada's Atlantic Coast. In addition to moving 200 million liters (53 million gallons) of raw milk annually, Fisher hauls other food-grade products and chemicals out of three locations in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador. The deal includes 60 tractors and 70 specialized trailers and gives KAG new alliances with Canadian dairy farmers. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. 'Fisher Transport has an excellent reputation within the industry, among their customers, and within their local communities,' said Grant Mitchell, president and chief operating officer at KAG, in a news release. … 'Together our team will execute this strategic journey of offering coast-to-coast bulk transportation services to all of our customers.' Fisher Transport President Jordan MacDonald and Chief Financial Officer Charlie Eisener will remain in senior leadership positions with the company. Fisher Transport's 60 drivers and operations staff of 15 will also join KAG Canada. 'I look forward to the opportunities that will emerge for the Fisher group of companies and for the valued members of our team by joining KAG, the industry leader in bulk transportation,' said Fisher Transport CEO Ken MacDonald. North Canton, Ohio-based KAG operates roughly 300 terminals and a fleet of 7,000 tractors. Kenan Advantage Group acquiring MC Tank Transport

Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) is acquiring liquid bulk hauler MC Tank Transport (MCT), according to an internal MCT memo to drivers on Tuesday. The latest acquisition for KAG will also provide it with a platform to provide International Organization for Standardization (ISO) tank services. The deal will also include MCT subsidiaries MC Leasing, KI Leasing and Liquid Solutions Tank Leasing. West Chester, Ohio-based MCT operates out of 11 terminals throughout the Midwest, South and East as well at major ports like Houston; Charleston, South Carolina; and Savannah, Georgia. The company also has six satellite locations. In addition to hauling acids, caustics and specialty chemicals, MCT provides ISO tank services as well as leasing and maintenance.'KAG and its tremendous management team are a perfect partnership – their 7,000-truck platform and great financial resources bring MCT the resources and know-how to expand our footprint, capabilities, technology, and services,' stated MCT President Michael Anderson in a memo to employees. 'We are far from done in our vision and goals for MCT, and I am tremendously excited for the opportunity to join the KAG team.' MCT will continue to operate under its own banner initially and will be folded into the KAG network over time. No locations are expected to close, and the current management team will remain in place with little changes to staff. The transaction will provide MCT with the capital to meet its customer requests for more capacity and additional services. The MCT deal is expected to 'form the foundation of KAG's ISO Services platform that we together will see grow to a 1,000 truck operation.'North Canton, Ohio-based KAG is the largest tank trucking company in North America. Kenan Advantage Group acquires Alabama-based dry bulk hauler

Kenan Advantage Group (KAG) announced Thursday it has acquired dry bulk hauler Evergreen Transport. Mobile, Alabama-based Evergreen Transport specializes in the transportation of dry bulk commodities like ash, cement, lime and sand in addition to food-grade commodities. It operates a fleet of 158 tractors and 338 trailers out of four terminals across Alabama. The 37-year-old carrier also provides dump trailer, flatbed and container services. Evergreen's roughly 100 drivers and 45 operations employees will join the KAG network. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.'As we continue to strategically build our dry bulk transportation platform, Evergreen Transport is another perfect fit with our growth plan,' said Rick Hoyle, KAG's head of dry bulk, in a news release. 'Their customer-centric business model, along with their diverse end user markets, complements our current dry bulk operations which have grown significantly over the last 12 months.' Evergreen's founder, Walter Poole, sold post-World War II startup Pool Truck Line to an entity that is now part of Schneider National (NASDAQ: SNDR).
