US expands airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen
ALBAWABA - The United States has intensified its air campaign against Houthi forces in Yemen, hitting key positions across several provinces, according to reports from Al Arabiya and Al Hadath.
On Sunday, American airstrikes targeted Ras Issa Port and Kamaran Island in Al-Salif, located in Hodeidah Province. Additional strikes were reported in southern Sanaa, where three raids hit weapons depots at Al-Sawad Camp, a major Houthi military site.
Earlier in the day, six airstrikes also struck Houthi training facilities in the Khamis Bani Saad area of Al-Mahwit Province, northwest of the capital. According to sources, these attacks resulted in dozens of casualties among Houthi fighters.
The renewed American offensive comes as Houthi attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea have surged following the resumption of Israel's military operations in Gaza on March 18. The Houthis, who are backed by Iran, had halted their attacks during a temporary ceasefire in Gaza that began on January 19, but resumed them in response to Israel's renewed campaign.
Since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict, the Houthis have carried out dozens of missile and drone strikes on vessels they allege were carrying supplies to Israel. They also previously targeted Israel directly with missiles and drones.

Sustained US Military Campaign
In response to these threats, the United States has been conducting near-daily airstrikes on Houthi positions since March 15. According to the Pentagon, American forces had struck over 1,000 Houthi targets by the end of April. These targets included missile launch sites, training camps, and weapons storage facilities.
Meanwhile, the Houthis claim they have retaliated by launching attacks on US aircraft carriers in the Red Sea on several occasions.
As hostilities continue, the situation remains highly volatile, with both sides vowing further action if military operations in Gaza and the Red Sea do not cease.
