MAFS' Carina barely recognisable in throwback snap: 'Stunning'

From her unique headscarf and long braided ponytail to her cross pendant choker and dramatic oversized sleeves, Carina Mirabile is undeniably the fashion icon of Married At First Sight 2025. The digital marketing manager and aspiring TV presenter has a diploma in fashion design and textiles and is already tipped to become a fashion and beauty influencer once the show finishes airing. While Carina has been making plenty of bold decisions with her appearance on MAFS, perhaps none have been as daring as her hair transformation in 2014. Throwback photos on Instagram show the TV star looking barely recognisable with blonde hair on her 21st birthday. MAFS' Dave and Veronica respond to 'cheating' rumours: 'Didn't look good' She paired her lighter locks with a black patterned gown and simple make-up - a stark contrast to her striking looks on MAFS. Carina received plenty of compliments on her hair at the time, with her followers saying she looked 'amazing', 'so beautiful' and 'absolutely stunning'. One person even described her as the 'Kim K of Perth' because of how similar she looked to the reality TV mogul, who rocked a similar blonde hairstyle in 2014. Carina has regularly been compared to Kim Kardashian throughout this year's season of MAFS, with some people saying her mum also looked like Kris Jenner at her wedding because of their similar hairstyles. Carina even admitted during her audition tape that her mum is the 'Australian version of Kris Jenner' and her family is very similar to the Kardashians. 'I'm Kim. Kim or Kylie [Jenner], I don't mind,' she laughed. 'Just minus all the pennies.' Not only have Carina's MAFS outfits all been show-stopping, but they've also been very expensive. Her sequin crystal dress from the girls' night costs $322, her black dinner party gown costs $1263, and her three-piece red set was made custom for her by Perth-based luxury brand KHIRZAD. 2024 bride Eden Harper recently told Yahoo Lifestyle that most of the brides on MAFS use a dress hire company for their dinner party looks so they don't have to spend an outrageous amount of money on new clothes. 'When you go on MAFS you have to supply all of your own outfits and do all of your own hair and makeup unless you can source something for yourself,' she detailed. 'That's very expensive if you're going to nine dinner parties, seven commitment ceremonies, plus your day-to-day filming. 'The day-to-day filming I think's okay because it's just your normal clothes, but I definitely didn't own like, 14 gowns to wear to the dinner parties. And to buy them, I have expensive taste so it would have been a very expensive exercise.' Eden explained that the hire company lets participants wear the dresses at no cost in exchange for free promotion once the episode airs. They will also send out multiple different dresses for the producers to approve as the brides aren't allowed to wear the same style or colour to the dinner party. 'The hire lady is really good to all of the girls on MAFS. Sometimes she'll send out five dresses and then we'll just try them all on, send all the photos [to the producers for approval], and then we just wait until we're allowed to wear it,' she continued. I'd have them locked in four weeks in advance for all the dinner parties like, 'No one else is wearing black that night, that's my night'.'
