Litter Free Louisiana book wins Gold Addy Award
NEW ORLEANS, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Keep Louisiana Beautiful and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor announced Thursday that the Litter Free Louisiana Youth Activity Book received a Gold Addy Award in Print Advertising – Branded Content and Entertainment at the 2025 New Orleans Chapter of the American Advertising Awards.
'KLB's free educational resources for youth prepare students to be environmental stewards and future community leaders,' said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser. 'The Litter Free Louisiana Activity Book is a beautiful book featuring animal characters that make learning fun. Congratulations to Keep Louisiana Beautiful on earning a Gold Addy Award.'
United Way NWLA says early education key to building strong communities
According to a press release, KLB provides resources to support educators in their efforts to teach students the importance of caring for the environment. Environmental literacy is of particular importance in Louisiana. With the state positioned at the mouth of the Mississippi River, the environment is extremely vulnerable to the toxic runoff, litter, and debris draining from over 30 U.S. states.
'It is our responsibility to prepare our children for the future they will inherit, and this includes providing education focused on environmental stewardship,' said Susan Russell, KLB Executive Director. 'The Litter Free Louisiana Activity Book includes activities inspiring reflection, problem-solving, and creativity. The book along with educational exercises for grades K-5 are available for free at The press release stated that many schools will utilize these resources during the state's largest litter cleanup and beautification initiative, Love the Boot Week, scheduled for April 5-13.
