First day of road closure dry-run goes smoothly, says KL traffic cops
KUALA LUMPUR: The first day of a two-day dry-run for road closures and diversions, held in conjunction with the Asean Summit, proceeded smoothly on Wednesday (May 21). As early as 7am, officers and personnel from the KL Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) were on hand to safeguard the routes from Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) to Istana Negara. KL JSPT chief Asst Comm Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said traffic on major highways remained smooth this morning. "For the first day, the road closures started at 7am and only involved routes from KLCC to Istana Negara. "The closures were conducted for a short time, about 10 minutes. "The roads were closed and reopened again in stages," he said when contacted today. ACP Mohd Zamzuri said the second day of the dry run on Thursday (May 22) will involve routes from hotels (where Asean leaders and delegates are staying) to KLCC. "The routes will be closed for 30 minutes until the movement is completed. "We hope for the public's cooperation in ensuring the smoothness of traffic in conjunction with the Asean Summit," he said.

Roads near stadium close for Malaysia Cup final
KUALA LUMPUR: Several roads near the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil will close and divert in stages from 2pm to accommodate large numbers of supporters attending the Malaysia Cup Final between JDT and Sri Pahang on Saturday (April 26). KL Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said 180 traffic officers and personnel have been deployed from 10am onwards to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety. "We advise road users to plan their journeys early and follow road signage and instructions from traffic police. "We also encourage the public to use public transport to reach the National Stadium to avoid traffic congestion," he said in a statement on Saturday. The following roads will be closed and diverted: The exit from Kesas Expressway heading to the traffic light in SUKOM will close and divert to Awan Kecil / Awan Besar. The road at SUKOM traffic light heading to Jalan Merah Cagar will close and divert to Awan Kecil / Awan Besar. Jalan Barat from Kesas Expressway will close and divert to Jalan Radin / Sri Petaling. Jalan Barat / Jalan Radin will close and divert to Shah Alam. The exit to Jalan Barat from Bulatan Lumba Kuda will close and divert to Kinrara. The Puchong Link exit to Jalan Barat will close and divert to Bulatan Kuda.
