Kuwait National Guard, Saudi Military Attache discuss bilateral coop.
KUWAIT, May 6 (KUNA) -- Kuwait National Guard (KNG) Undersecretary Lieutenant General Hashem Al-Refaie met on Tuesday with the Saudi Military Attache Brigadier General Farhan Al-Shathri, to discuss ways to strengthen cooperation between the KNG and military institutions in Saudi Arabia. According to a statement by Kuwait National Guard, the meeting was attended by senior commanders, and Al-Refaie conveyed greetings from KNG Chief Sheikh Mubarak Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and KNG Deputy Chief Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Sabah, emphasizing the deep-rooted historical ties and strong relations between the two countries. The talks focused on enhancing military cooperation and addressing key issues of mutual interest between the two countries, it added. (end)

Amir praises Armed Forces, National Guard
KUWAIT CITY, March 11, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah paid a visit on Monday to the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense. Accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al- Hamad Al-Sabah and Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, His Highness the Amir was received by Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defense Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Meshal Mubarak Al-Sabah and Deputy Chief of General Staff of Kuwait Army Air Vice Marshal Sheikh Sabah Jaber Al- Ahmad Al-Sabah. In a speech, His Highness the Amir said 'It is a pleasure to us - and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Acting Prime Minister Sheikh Fahad Yousef Al-Sabah and the companions - to meet with the Defense Ministry's personnel to congratulate you on the holy month of Ramadan'. His Highness the Amir prayed to Allah to accept good deeds of all in this month, and return this occasion to the Arab and Islamic nations with goodness and blessings. During his speech, His Highness said that he was proud of the National Guard for its decades of history and achievements, wishing the KNG's Chief, Deputy Chief, and all officers in the Guard success, as well as congratulating them on the blessed month of Ramadan. He noted the great effort of the officers and chiefs in various military, security, administrative fields for defending the homeland, supporting security services, protecting vital facilities, and providing support to state institutions. He appreciated the Guard's support for a number of essential state agencies, including the Ministry of Electricity and Water, the Ministry of Public Works, the Oil Tanker Company, Kuwait Aviation Fueling Company (KAFCO), and others. His Highness also appreciated the Guard's military exercises that enhance its capabilities and performance, especially the Nasr 20 Command Center Exercise (CPX), with the participation of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and the United Kingdom. He admired the Guard's good governance as well as its social responsibility initiatives.
