Meet man who made Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna star, is terrified of his children, afraid to work with his own daughter
Famous lyricists and scriptwriters Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan have written the fate of many actors. They have made films like 'Sholay', 'Kaala Patthar', 'Deewar', 'Don', 'Haathi Mere Saathi'. Javed Akhtar, who made Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna stars, is afraid of working with his own children. Recently, Javed Akhtar said that among all the filmmakers, it is most difficult for him to work with his children, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. The veteran writer considers working with Zoya and Farhan a challenge. In a recent conversation with The Lallantop, Javed talked about his experience of working on films with Zoya and Farhan. When asked who is more strict to work with, he answered candidly. He says, 'It is easy to work for others, but it is very difficult for your children. It is not like with them that, since they are our fathers, we don't say anything. We have to say something. Zoya is a strict taskmaster.' Talking about his children, Javed Akhtar says that even though Zoya and Farhan are siblings, there is a lot of creative difference between them. Both make different types of films, the veteran script writer said that both Zoya and Farhan make completely different types of films and the style of their films is also completely different from each other. He says, 'Both are smart and both make different kinds of films. There is nothing common. Now, the kind of film that Farhan makes, Zoya cannot make. The kind of film that Zoya makes, Farhan cannot make. They belong to different schools. Both are doing well.' Zoya Akhtar is one of the most renowned filmmakers in Bollywood today. Her films often focus on relationships, emotions, and real-life issues. She made her directorial debut with 'Luck By Chance' and made popular films like 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', 'Dil Dhadakne Do,' and 'Gully Boy'. Zoya Akhtar's 'Gully Boy' was India's official entry to the Oscars. Zoya is also involved in content production. She directed 'The Archies' on Netflix and co-produced 'Superboys of Malegaon' and the documentary series 'Angry Young Men'.

When Shatrughan Sinha stated Amitabh Bachchan's stardom was fueled by roles initially meant for him
A resurfaced interview reveals Shatrughan Sinha's perspective on his strained relationship with Amitabh Bachchan, wherein he implies that Bachchan's rise to superstardom was significantly aided by roles initially offered to Sinha. According to Sinha, a series of pivotal film opportunities, which later became cornerstones of Bachchan's career, were first presented to him, which he had declined. Sinha mentioned his rifts with the star in an old interview and also in his memoir, Anything but Khamosh. Sinha claims he passed on iconic roles that defined Bachchan's career. In an old chat with Reddif, Sinha alleges that roles in films such as 'Sholay' and 'Deewar,' now indelibly associated with Amitabh Bachchan, were originally intended for him. He suggests that his decision to reject these roles, due to his focus on establishing himself as a lead actor, inadvertently paved the way for Bachchan's ascent. "Amitabh's role in [Ramesh Sippy's] 'Sholay' was first offered to me," Sinha stated, adding, "Even Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar's 'Deewar' was originally written for me." He indicates that these rejections, while intended to further his own career, ultimately benefited Bachchan's trajectory. Sinha addresses Bachchan's unwillingness to collaborate. Further into the interview, Sinha suggests that as Bachchan's star rose, he became increasingly reluctant to work alongside him. He claims that even when they did collaborate, such as in 'Naseeb' and 'Shaan,' Bachchan was not enthusiastic about their joint projects. "I must say Amitabh did not want me to do these films," Sinha alleges. This sentiment paints a picture of a growing professional divide that, according to Sinha, directly impacted their personal relationship. 'Kala Pathar,' their last film together Sinha identifies 'Kaala Patthar' as a particularly significant moment in their deteriorating friendship. He claims that Bachchan was strongly opposed to his casting in the film and that their interactions during the shoot were minimal. "I think Kaala Patthar was the last nail in the coffin of our friendship," Sinha stated. He suggests that the film's success, coupled with his subsequent performance in Dostana, led to Bachchan's decision to cease working with him altogether. This perspective frames Bachchan's career trajectory as one significantly shaped by roles initially intended for Sinha and their subsequent professional and personal estrangement as a result of this dynamic. Sinha also addressed the rifts between himself and Amitabh in his Memoir, Check out our list of the latest Hindi , English , Tamil , Telugu , Malayalam , and Kannada movies . When Amitabh Bachchan decided not work with Shatrughan Sinha anymore: ‘Kaala Patthar was the last nail in the coffin of our friendship'
Not only have Bollywood icons Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha made notable appearances together in films such as Dost, Kaala Patthar, Dostana, Shaan, Parwana, Naseeb, and Yaar Meri Zindagi, but they also share a close bond; a friendship that has stood the test of time. However, their relationship has also experienced its share of ups and downs over the years. In fact, during the filming of director Yash Chopra's Kaala Patthar, the two hardly spoke to each other on set. Sinha once revealed that Bachchan eventually didn't want them to work together anymore. Recalling their initial days, Sinha said during a chat with Rediff in 2002, 'I was at the fag end of my struggle [to establish myself] when he came in [to films] and began his own struggle. We used to be together with actor Anwar Ali, Mehmood's younger brother. Most of the time we were either at Mehmood's house or my flat in Bandstand, Bandra. We would see films together and go on dates together to discotheques, etc. We were a great team. We also shared the same secretary, Pawan Kumar.' ICYMI | Rumoured to be haunted, Rajesh Khanna's 'cursed' sea-facing bungalow Aashirwad was purchased for just Rs 3.5 lakh; it was sold for Rs 90 crore He added, 'At first, Amitabh's films didn't do too well. Then, luck and tide favoured him. He began to rise and became a star and then a superstar. I was doing well in my own way. There are certain things that people are not aware of. Amitabh's role in director Ramesh Sippy's Sholay was first offered to me. But I was emerging as the lead in those days. I didn't want to play such a role. Even Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar's Deewaar was originally written for me. It was lying with my producer for a long time. Then there was some difference between the producer and Salim Khan. He took back the signing amount. The film was then given to Yash Chopra.' However, their relationship gradually deteriorated over time. 'Amitabh went ahead [in his career]. We started meeting less and less but we did do a few films together, like Naseeb and Shaan. I must say Amitabh did not want me to do these films. I think Kaala Patthar was the last nail in the coffin of our friendship. He was very against me doing the film. I was in it much against his wishes. We were once such good friends, but he and I hardly spoke during the film's shooting. I won a lot of praise for Kaala Patthar and then for Dostana. Then Amitabh decided he would not work with me.' Despite the decline in their relationship, Shatrughan Sinha maintained that he never confronted or embarrassed Amitabh Bachchan by asking why they no longer worked together. According to him, whenever they met, they remained civil towards each other. 'I would like to add that when he faced difficult times financially, when the media thrashed him, I always raised my voice: one should never ridicule someone when he is low because these things can happen to anybody. What is the difference between those sycophants who praise you when you are in power and kick you when you are down, and you? So I always supported him in my own way. I never held a grudge against him,' he added.

When Amitabh Bachchan Didn't Want Shatrughan Sinha In His Films: 'We Were Friends But...'
Last Updated: Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha's friendship faded as Bachchan's superstardom rose. Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha were once close friends and two of the biggest stars of their time, but somewhere along the way, things went cold between. In a candid old interview, Sinha didn't hold back while recalling how their friendship slowly faded away as Bachchan's superstardom took off and casting politics in Bollywood came into play. From rejecting roles that later went to Amitabh, to being sidelined by producers, Shatrughan laid it all out — and even claimed that Big B didn't want to work with him anymore. 'At first, Amitabh's films didn't do too well. Then, luck and tide favoured him. He began to rise and became a star and then a superstar. I was doing well in my own way. There are certain things that people are not aware of. Amitabh's role in [Ramesh Sippy's] Sholay was first offered to me. But I was emerging as the lead in those days. I didn't want to play such a role," Shatrughan had said in a chat with Rediff. He then dropped some major revelations. 'Even Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar's Deewar was originally written for me. It was lying with my producer for a long time. Then there was some difference between the producer and Salim Khan. He took back the signing amount. The film was then given to Yash Chopra. Amitabh went ahead [in his career]. We started meeting less and less but we did do a few films together, like Naseeb and Shaan. I must say Amitabh did not want me to do these films," he had said. According to Shatrughan Sinha, the professional gap widened their personal distance and it was Kaala Patthar that marked a turning point. 'I think Kaala Patthar was the last nail in the coffin of our friendship. He was very against my doing the film. I was in it much against his wishes. We were once such good friends, but he and I hardly spoke during the shooting of the film. I won a lot of praise for Kaala Patthar and then for Dostana. 'Is Amitabh Bachchan Okay?' Decoding BigB's Puzzling Posts On 'X' That Have Raised Alarms
Last Updated: Amitabh Bachchan has been 'tweeting' blank posts on 'X' and fans are worried, to say the least. A quick glance at Amitabh Bachchan's 'X' profile will give you a rough idea that something's really up. The megastar of Bollywood who has cult-like following in the country thanks to his illustrious filmography that includes the likes of Deewar, Don, Agneepath, Kaala Patthar, Zanjeer, Satte Pe Saata, has gone really quiet on his favourite platform 'X'. He's still actively posting to his 49 million followers using his characteristic style that follows the sequential order 'T-" but the words are missing. This has prompted speculations among fans who routinely gather under his 'empty tweets" with words of concern. So what exactly happened to our beloved BigB? BigB's last post that carried any text barring the numbering 'T" had a vague message. He wrote, 'T 5355 – The silent X chromosome .. deciding the brain .." Incidentally, it came on the day the Pahalgam massacre took place. Terrorists linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) attacked a group of tourists in Baisaran valley in southern Kashmir's Pahalgam, gunning down 26 and injuring many others. Although the star's post came before the dastardly attack took place, the 82-year-old has decided to follow his own 'silent" treatment. (X/Amitabh Bachchan) His timeline is pretty much this (attached above screenshot) since April 23 and the ardent fans have grown mighty worried. Fans Raise Questions 'Everyone giving a backlash to him simply for trying to represent his real mental state on twitter not for show but to be with others a community. What I understand is, the events have left him devastated, pain beyond words, rage and reaction, left entirely shattered, (sic)" a fan, responding to one of BigB's post, wondered. (X/Amitabh Bachchan) This is perhaps one of the rare responses to the veteran actor's post that has sided with him and supported him amid his silent break. The overarching responses to BigB's countless and textless posts over the past two weeks or so have made fans wonder how an influential figure with a voice as powerful as his hasn't raised his voice against the deadly attack that claimed the lives of so many innocents. Time To Go A couple months ago or so, Bachchan posted on 'X', a message, that simply read 'time to go". This sparked plenty of worry and speculations among his huge fan base. Was he going to retire? Is it the end of Kaun Banega Crorepati? Fortunately, someone sat in the audience during his quiz show brought it up directly to the actor and he responding by saying that it was time to go… to work. Very cheeky. His online persona is an extension of a personal diary, a journal that he updates routinely. His posts are mostly about his stagnant follower count on social media and why 'X' doesn't listen to his complaints. The rest of it is him sharing thoughts with his own portraits.
