Malayalam actor Vishnu Prasad dies
Popular Malayalam television actor Vishnu Prasad died at a private hospital in Kochi on Friday (May 2, 2025) early morning. He was 49. He had been undergoing treatment for liver-related ailments for some time and required a liver transplant. The death occurred around 1.09 a.m, according to the Public Relations wing at the Aster Medcity Hospital. The family along with his friends in the Association of Malayalam Television Artists were making arrangements to carry out the transplant. He rose to prominence in the film and television industry for his portrayals of villains. Besides acting in various Malayalam television serials, Vishnu had acted in movies including Kaasi, Kaiyethum Doorathu, Lion, Runway, Mampazhakaalam, Ben Johnson and Lokanathan IAS.

Undergoing treatment for several days According to Asianet News reports, Vishnu Prasad breathed his last at a private hospital in Ernakulam, where he had been undergoing treatment for several days in critical condition. The news was confirmed by fellow actor Kishore Sathya , who expressed his grief in a Facebook post, calling it a "heartbreaking update." His note read, 'പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടവരേ, ഒരു സങ്കട വാർത്ത... വിഷ്ണു പ്രസാദ് അന്തരിച്ചു. കുറച്ച് നാളുകളായി രോബാധിതനായി ചികിത്സയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു. ആദരാജ്ഞലികൾ... അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അകാല വിയോഗം നേരിടാൻ കുടുംബത്തിന് ശക്തിയുണ്ടാവട്ടെ എന്നും പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു. While ATMA had extended financial aid to his family as immediate relief, Kishore Sathya had earlier informed that approximately Rs 30 lakh was needed for his treatment. ATMA was also attempting to raise more funds with the family's consent. One of the most touching revelations during the treatment period was that Vishnu Prasad's daughter had expressed willingness to donate a part of her liver to save her father, as reported by On Manorama. The actor's funeral is scheduled for the next day (May 3).
