Okaloosa County pageant queen dies in car crash
OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — An Okaloosa County pageant queen has died after a crash in Santa Rosa County at Highway 4 and Hurricane Lake Road.

Family members identified the victim as 18-year-old Kadance Frederickson — the Miss Okaloosa County Teen representative at the Miss Florida Teen USA pageant in 2024.
Kadance, a Baker School student, was killed when her around 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17.
Family members told News 5 that Kadance had just received nine college acceptances and planned on being a veterinarian.
Her family described Kadance as 'absolutely perfect' and having 'the whole world at the palm of her hands.'
Kadance had created the 'Kada's Promise' organization, collecting over 12,000 teddy bears and blankets and distributing them to children enduring abuse and trauma, according to the organization's website.
Her family will continue the organization in her name.
Baker School administrators said counselors and mental health psychologists will be on campus Tuesday for students.

Arrangements are still being made, but the family asks that donations be made to 'Kada's Promise' in lieu of flowers.
