Woman with Benton County warrants arrested in connection with Oklahoma child's fentanyl overdose
TULSA, Okla. (KNWA/KFTA) — A woman with outstanding warrants out of Benton County has been arrested in Tulsa in connection with a child's fentanyl overdose.
Jailynn Cormier, 19, and her roommate Kadin Hester, 26, were arrested by the Tulsa Police Department on Feb. 23 for trafficking fentanyl, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and drug possession with intent in the presence of a minor.
In a social media post, the Tulsa Police Department says Cormier has outstanding warrants in Benton County.
A social media post from TPD said officers responded to the Studio Star Motel near 4700 S. Braden Avenue for a report of a child overdosing on fentanyl.
The Tulsa Fire Department, TPD and paramedics from the Emergency Medical Services Authority responded to the scene and found a two-year-old child unresponsive and having trouble breathing.

Narcan was administered to the child and they regained consciousness. They were taken to a nearby hospital.
The child's mother, identified as Cormier, and her roommate Kadin Hester, reportedly denied having drugs in the motel room but later admitted to having fentanyl.
According to the Facebook post from TPD, officers found small piles of fentanyl on the floor of the motel room, including near where the child was found. Drug paraphernalia and a 'large sum' of cash were recovered from the scene.
TPD said the Tulsa Police Child Crisis Unit will conduct a full investigation and the two could face additional child neglect charges.
The child is expected to make a full recovery and will be in DHS custody.
TPD officers said in the post that Cormier has outstanding warrants out of Benton County.
Both are being held in the Tulsa County Detention Center on a $40,000 bond and are set to appear in court on March 23. Cormier is on hold for Benton County.
