Aggie fans and media react to Texas A&M's being swept by No. 1 Texas For the third straight game, Texas A&M falls to No. 1 Texas by one run in the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin. Sunday's game between the Aggies and Longhorns brought plenty of action, with the Aggies jumping out to an early lead. A&M carried a 4-2 advantage into the bottom of the sixth inning before Texas surged ahead with three runs, taking a 5-4 lead. Caden Sorrell tied the game in the top of the seventh with a solo home run, marking the final run for A&M in the matchup. Texas regained the lead with a solo home run late in the game. In a critical moment, Kaeden Kent hit into a double play with one out and two runners on base, sealing the Aggies' tough loss. Leaving 10 runners stranded proved costly, but the weekend highlighted A&M's potential as a postseason contender. With nine SEC games remaining, the Aggies have a strong chance to secure their spot if they capitalize on key opportunities. Below are some of the best reactions from fans and media after Sunday's loss. Tough road to the postseason and they might need to win the final three series to be safe Texas A&M made every game a battle but needed to take at least one Losing three games by one point to your rival is heartbreaking The Aggies just couldn't do enough when they needed to the most A&M just needs to reset and finish the season strong 13 might just be the magic number Glass half-full is a good way to look at things Glass half-empty is also another way to look at it On a brighter note, Caden Sorrell had another Web Gem to add to his highlight reel Time to move on to the midweek matchup Texas A&M will look to get back on track against Lamar in a midweek matchup on April 29 at 6:00 p.m. CT. Texas A&M defeats Sam Houston 13-3 behind another productive day at the plate

Texas A&M defeats Sam Houston 13-3 behind another productive day at the plate First homer in the Maroon & White for TK‼️#GigEm — Texas A&M Baseball (@AggieBaseball) April 22, 2025 Texas A&M (24-16, 8-10 SEC) once again took care of business during Tuesday's midweek home matchup vs. Sam Houston for the second time this season, run-ruling the visitors 13-3 behind another great day at the plate. Redshirt freshman Blake Binderup continued his impressive streak, hitting two home runs while Kaeden Kent and Caden Sorrell also recorded home runs in the first three innings. Jumping out to an 11-0 lead in the top of the fourth, freshman pitcher Gavin Lyons recorded four strikeouts while allowing one hit. Exiting at three innings, Aiden Sims and Clayton Freshcorn kept the Aggies clean, combining for six strikeouts. However, after Peyton Smith and Brad Rudis entered, the Bearkats scored three runs, but that isn't anything to scoff at, given the run-rule. While Blake Binderup's day was impressive, Terrence Kiel II's two-hit day included his first career home run with the Maroon & White, which was the perfect time right before the Aggies hit the road to face the No. 1-ranked Texas Longhorns, who struggled against Texas State on Tuesday night. Mid-week games are good opportunities to evaluate the bullpen, but consistency at the plate should be noted. With 15 hits, 12 RBI, and four home runs, including four players with multiple hits, the Aggies did what they had to do to earn a win and get ready for the most significant season of the year. Texas A&M SS Kaeden Kent speaks after hitting game-winning grand slam vs. South Carolina

Texas A&M SS Kaeden Kent speaks after hitting game-winning grand slam vs. South Carolina Texas A&M (20-15, 6-9 SEC) is riding a six-game winning streak after sweeping South Carolina this weekend inside Blue Bell Park, capped off by Saturday's epic comeback win, which included consecutive grand slams from Hayden Schott and Kaeden Kent, producing eight runs after trailing 12-2 entering the bottom of the sixth. Texas A&M's "clutch gene" has returned. While Kaeden Kent has become adept at hitting grand slams when the game is on the line, sophomore outfielder Caden Sorrell's solo game-winning home run in extra innings in Game 1 further proved that the previous offensive droughts have all but dissipated. However, time will tell with road tests against Arkansas and Texas up next. Kent, who recorded four hits during his five plate appearances, took several questions from the local media after the game, discussing what went through his mind when he faced two outs with bases loaded, as the Aggies were down one score with a series sweep on the line. "He was throwing a lot of fastballs, and he had a slider he was throwing, and, you know, I was just trying to get a good pitch to hit and drive the ball hard somewhere to score a couple of runs," Kent stated. "But, yeah, you approach every at-bat the same way, and as much as you wanted to say that that was the same, the moment was big, and the situation was big, and the crowd was into it. It just made the game so much more fun to play, and when you can enjoy playing, good things happen." Kent went on to state that during his early struggles this season, the team and coaching staff had his back, which has paid off recently. Texas A&M's offense is on fire, scoring 80 runs during the six-game winning streak, which is nearly 30% of the team's total offense (279 runs) for the year. Before facing Arkansas on the road, starting on Thursday, Texas A&M will host Tarleton State on Tuesday night, looking to extend its winning streak to seven games.
