CM opens 2nd KalyanMandapam in Gkp

Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday inaugurated the city's second Kalyan Mandapam, constructed at a cost of ₹4.52 crore in Surajkund Colony. He lauded the Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation for being the first civic body in the state to spearhead such an initiative. Speaking at the event, the CM said, "It is the duty of a democratically elected govt to provide resources and facilities that cater to all income groups." He added that five more Kalyan Mandapams are under construction and announced the allocation of his entire MLA fund for the project. The 35,500 sq ft Mandapam offers an affordable venue for ceremonies, priced between ₹11,000 and ₹25,000, aimed at benefiting lower and middle-income families. Highlighting Gorakhpur's transformation, Yogi listed several ongoing and completed projects, including AIIMS, the fertilizer factory, Smart City initiatives and connectivity upgrades through ring roads and highways. He also praised the integrated waste management at Suthni, beautification projects and infrastructure developments like food streets and parking hubs.
