Local holiday in Theni on May 9 and 12 for temple festival
Collector Ranjith Singh has announced that May 9 and 12 would be local holidays and to compensate for those days, May 17 and 31 would be working days.
According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, the famous Veerapandi Gowmariamman Temple festival is underway from May 6 to 13. The Car festival is scheduled for May 9 (Friday). Hence, the district administration has declared a local holiday and May 17 (Saturday) would be a working day.
Likewise, in view of the Kannagi Temple festival, a local holiday has been declared on May 12 (Monday) and instead May 31 (Saturday) would be a working day.
The Huzur treasury would function as usual with limited strength and the essential commodities wing would be operational.
